Bilfur eats one of his berries and recommends going back to the inn for breakfast, some rest, and to wash this stuff off

"That's a good idea, Bilfur," says Robur. "I don't want to want to see my friends suffer, and myself being almost killed twice deserves a good old Hobbitsy feast and rest. I can almost taste the delicious mead, freshly baked bread, and cheddar cheese!"

Beppo had an empty small sack he volunteered and filled with copper pieces. "Ow ow ow..." he muttered quietly as he stuffed the bag with his sore fingers.

Dame Simonetta can't help but thinking that those with blistered hands have received nothing but their just desserts, but out of politeness refrains from speaking it aloud. The look in her eyes says it clearly, however.

Noting that things are starting to wrap up here, Dame Simonetta starts moving cautiously north-westward to see what is down that corridor.

Robur sighs with regret and follows the others to continue adventuring. He wonders why he didn't end up getting sores as well...

His work done, Willie climbs out of the pit, taking the medallion, coins, and his hammer and rope with him.

"Well, let's not do that again -- at least not any time soon."

He takes up his arms gingerly, and joins the marching order, peering ahead into the darkness assiduously in an attempt to distract himself from the minor-but-irritating pains he's suffering.

Turn 17

Dame Simonetta sees that the northwest tunnel is choked with thick spider webs. Based on her mental map, the Dame deduces that this tunnel passes under the other tunnel, and connects with the previously-visited web room (area 23). She estimates there is an approximately 100' section that is totally impassable due to the thick webbing.

"Well, there's one shortcut I think we can all agree to avoid!" Dame Simonetta says pointedly. She retreats backwards, keeping her eye on the webs but trying to get away before she attracts the attention of the inhabitants.
