Dame Simonetta manoeuvers herself to get in a good sword attack as it swings past!

Beppo stared at the butt of the hobbet crawling in front of him and wished he could see what was going on up ahead!

Wilbur the Quite Tall will take a swing at it, when it closes. Perhaps his great height will assist him(?)

Round 1

Dougal holds out his right hand and attempts to command the Spider-Goat using the power of his ring. A genius idea; will it work?

No! Spider-goat don't care. The beast will not bend to Dougal. In fact Dougal senses the spidergoat potentially has a stronger will than he does; if anything he should be worried about it mind-controlling him! It lowers its ram's-horns and is just about to head-butt Dougal when...

Wilbur leaps out from the tunnel in a whirlwind of fancy bladework! His attacks go wide, but it's just enough to distract the spidergoat from its target, and it misses Dougal.

Dame Simonetta is standing by, cool and collected. As the spidergoat whizzes past her, she slices it in the abdomen, using the momentum of its charge to open up a terrible wound!

The wounded spidergoat lets out and awful shriek and swings out of view. (It is swinging from at least 30' of webbing so the arc of its swing takes it outside the range of Dougal's lantern.)

Bilfur scrambles out of the tunnel and pops to his feet, followed by Noh and his raven companion Carc. They will be able to act on round 2. They can hear tortured bleating sounds echoing from somewhere in the darkness. (The puffball chamber is vaulted and cavernous, with plenty of stalagmites, stalactites, and other hiding places.)

What next??
Let's do individual initiative for the three hobbets who are able to act this round:
Dame Simonetta: 3
Dougal: 3
Wilbur: 6
Spidergoat: 3
Wilbur will act first, and then the other actions will be simultaneous.

Wilbur attacks as 3 men since his level-up: 11, 5, 12, all attacks miss.
Dame Simonetta: 20! 18, 3, hits twice for 2d6=4hp.
Dougal MYTHOS check: 1d6=4, fail. No San loss, it just doesn't work.
Spidergoat vs. Dougal: 6, miss

How many more hobbets can join the fight? The next 1d3 = 2 in the single-file marching order (Bilfur and Noh) can join the fight on round 2. The others will have to wait until at least round 3 to emerge from the tunnel.

Dougal goes ahead and fires a sling stone where he anticipates the spidergoat to be.

"Don't one of you have the ability to outline that thing with a glowing light?"

Dame Simonetta moves further from the entrance to give the others plenty of room to emerge. She is ready in case it decides to swing back towards the lantern again, especially when Willie emerges with the second lantern.

Revealing an invisible foe is a classic and totally appropriate use-case for Faerie Fire! You can cast it in the direction of the sounds, and any creatures in the area of effect will be illuminated.

My only disclaimer is that Spidey gets a saving throw to resist the effects. A successful save by the creature perhaps indicating, that Noh misjudged the sounds and cast the spell in the wrong direction.

Noh could think of many a Great Druid that would admonish him for poor spell management - using magic so early in the day! But Noh remembers this unnatural creature well... and it's the reason he memorized this particular spell.
With a supportive look at Carc, Noh brings forth the magic of Faerie Fire and casts it upon where he believes he hears bleating the loudest!
Oh, yeah, no worries there, I thought I needed to see him. Rock on!
