Dougal tries to not drop his sword. (And continues his sword attack...)

Skeleton Battle Round 14

Dougal and Kiplyn continue their strange dance where Dougal feints and Kiplyn takes advantage of the distraction. Kip destroys the skeleton in front of him, then follows through to stab another skeleton in the back. Just like that, it's down to the last 2 skeletons.

Bilfur swats ineffectively with his club, but Dame Simonetta shows him how it's done. She effortlessly dispatches the final 2 skeletons as they come through the doorway.

VICTORY!
Party attack rolls:
Bilfur 3 miss
Dougal 5, 5, both miss
Kiplyn 17, 19 hits twice for 3hp, 5hp destroying 2 skeletons!
Dame Simonetta 13, 17 hit twice for 2hp, 6hp destroying the last 2 skeletons!

Will Dame Simonetta's victory redeem her in the eyes of Athena? Reaction roll 2d6=10. Yup, it might be worth trying the medallion trick again, next time she encounters undead.

***I apologize*** not waiting for Willie and Wilbur to participate in the final round, but the suspense was killing me, and it looked like the party had the numbers to pull of a victory, so I rolled with it.

Guys, that was tense! Don't make me worry about you like that. ;)

What to make of the mysterious metal ingots? There are 12 identical bars of an unknown metal, each neatly wrapped like a giant candy bar. Each weighs about 30 pounds so we're talking 360 pounds of bullion! 1 pound = 20 coins so that is the equivalent of 7,200 coins! It kind of makes you wonder how much that mystery metal is worth, and whether you can find an appraiser or buyer.

This is one of the stranger areas of the dungeon. Kudos to you for finding it!

Now that the danger has passed, Dougal searches the rest of the skeletons to see if any of them are wearing anything of interest.

How much deeper do we want to push? We have a ton of loot to carry out and we still have to check the left turn we passed and hope it takes back to area 10. I doubt there is much more to map infront of us but I don't want to be encumbered and surprised while we do this.

As the last skeleton falls, Dame Simonetta suddenly feels the pain and dizziness from the wound she just received. She drops to a seated position and staunches the wound if necessary. She then pulls out some rations and eats some nuts and dried fruit.
Two of our fighters (The Dame and Willie) are also low on hit points. I also think we should collect all the loot here, then head south and try to make it to area 10 and thence back to the surface.

Per @ehiker133's comment in the OOC thread, about missing out on treasure by being in a hurry: Remember that Kiplyn and Dougal have only searched two 10x10 squares of this room (the area of the cots). It takes 1 turn for 1 character to thoroughly search a 10x10 square. I rule that searching is a non-strenuous activity that can take place during a Rest Turn.

On which side of the secret door is the party spending their Rest Turn, and is the door open or closed?
