Re: The Fifth Adventure

"Take that, you big ol' bully ... Goat!" shouts Willie after the Goat -- possibly emboldened by his head rattling around inside the helm.

However, he is not so bold as to disregard Dame S's good tactical sense. He follows the others through the door, moving backward, keeping his lantern high to deter the Spider-Goat from attacking again before they're through the door.

"Through the door, up the passage, but watch out -- he could be waiting for us on the left if he circles around! Dame S & Wilbur, guard the front, Dougal & Kiplyn, see if you can get a shot over their heads with your slings, and I'll guard the back here -- though I hope he can't use secret doors."

Re: The Fifth Adventure

Our heroes quickly pass through the series of secret doors and cautiously emerge on the eastern side. Dougal and Kiplyn are ready with their slings, but there is no sign of the Spidergoat. The coast is clear.

The party safely reaches the ladder to the surface world.

Stay tuned while I tally up your XP, and feel free to chit chat amongst yourselves.
"Should players pass through a secret door the pursuit will continue only on a throw of 6."

1d6=3
The Spidergoat does not pursue.

One last wandering monster check for the final leg of the journey: 1d6=1, no encounter.

Re: The Fifth Adventure

Dame Simonetta's primary task on returning will be to find an armourer (ideally) who can re-tool/re-fit/whatever-is-required-and-damn-the-expense the bronze dwarf armour to fit her! She'll ask Frederick if he knows anyone who may help.

Re: The Fifth Adventure

Dougal is all for live and let live, but... We need to find the danged spider goat lair and put that thing out once and for all!

Alas, the lowly thief is hard-pressed to decrease his AC under such rules as what we are playing, with magical leather or elven chain mail or rings of protection being few and far between...

Re: The Fifth Adventure

A couple of questions:

Dame Simonetta: Is she going to cash in the owl medallion, or keep wearing it?

Kiplyn: What is he going to do with the glowing stone idol of Cthulhu?

Adventure 5 Epilogue

The party ascends the ladder and is greeted by the familiar smell of pancakes. Ursa is asleep in her blanket-nest by the fire, and Frederick is watching over her, drinking coffee and playing solitaire.

Frederick whispers: "Shhh shhh shhh! Let's talk in the kitchen, so we don't wake her up. The poor girl needs her sleep. Did you have a good Adventure?"

When Dame Simonetta shows him the bronze armour, he lets out a low whistle of amazement. "Nice find! A lot of people think Dwarves are imaginary (and we want the humans to believe there is no such thing) but I know for a fact dwarves are real. Or at least, they once were real. Nobody has seen one in a long time. But it is a family secret that my ancestor Original Frederick went on many adventures with dwarf companions. I implore you: do NOT show that breastplate to a human blacksmith! It would raise too many questions, how you got ahold of such an ancient and oddly crafted artifact. I suggest sending it back to the Hobbet Homes with Farmer Skip Pebbles. He can deliver it to a hobbet blacksmith and have it fitted to your measurements (with steel reinforcements to meet modern protective standards) then delivered back here on his next trip."

Just then, there is a knock at the door. And then a second knock. "Would one of you check who is there?" asks Frederick. "If it's those annoying human children, tell them we are closed for a Hobbet Holiday."

This concludes the Fifth Adventure, congratulations! Please continue with Adventure Six: A Knock at the Door:

Dame Simonetta will keep the medallion (and continue wearing it prominently). Since she is also keeping the armour, that's a total value of 490gp, but here share from this delve is only 250gp. Therefore, she will put 240gp of her previously-earned treasure into the pot to balance it out.
