Franklin is feeling pretty gung-ho about systematically checking each of the monster lairs for treasure. If anyone is feeling wounded or depleted and wants to head straight for the surface, now is a good time to speak up!

Let's start with this: Franklin will remove his helmet and use his racial listening ability at each of the doors and corridors. He will start with the southern door (through the acolyte's room) and then, if he doesn't hear anything scary, move clockwise around the obsidian room, listening at each of the side corridors, in the order W, N, N, E. He doesn't enter the corridors, but he has a look/listen at each threshold. Sconces is with him, using his sniffer.

My preference is also to continue exploring.

Does anyone want to experiment further with the throne?
Maloof asks the Efreet to open the south door in the Priest/Acolyte room (after Franklin is finished listening, assuming nothing is heard).

Wiglaff is in favour of further exploration. He & his remaining men will stand guard in the main room while Franklin is doing his checking. If Maloof & the Efreet need assistance to the south they will move down there.

Aldbane is fine with staying for now. He'll stand guard in the main room with Wiglaff.

Franklin makes a quick perimeter check, but he and Sconces don't detect anything else. The two corridors leading north look like they go 20 feet, and then open into a room of the same width as the room you are in. To the west, the corridor goes 20 feet, with a door on the 20' section of the north wall that the ogres came out of. It then leads to a 20x40 room, leading north, with a door 20' up on the west wall that the riders came out of

It leads to a 20' square room, jutting west, with a door on the west wall, top section. Acodispo hasn't kept the maps up to date, but if they were, you would surmise that the door leads to the hydra room

Nothing looks loot-able in this room I assume?

I think the Hydra will be a tough battle, even with the Efreet... if we fight it, it might weaken us enough that we won't be able to continue exploring the other areas. We could send the Efreet in alone, but it might get killed. I think we're probably better off just leaving the Hydra room alone. What do the rest of you think?

If the party is in agreement, I'd prefer to check out the north room and see if there is a door into the central section of this area.

Great map update! Not sure what went wrong, but the door to Hydra room should be 10 feet up, so it looks like we have an off set in our maps, east vs west, by 10'

Franklin votes north door, on the theory the ogres might have treasure in their den. If that dead-ends, then the west door (that the boar-riders came out of).

Rhod agrees with this plan.
