Sorry, all, my work schedule has been hairy this week. In fact, it's 7:00 pm and I'm still here. Working. Or... getting right back to working... :(

My work life has "gone nuclear" the last two weeks too; looking forward to bouncing back some time...

I guess the good news is that I will be closer to you, geographically speaking, than I ever have been in just a few weeks, WOTE, when I spend a week in Bali. The travel time there and back is pretty terrible (20 hours or so? And who knows what day it will be when I land...), but still very much looking forward to it.

The days in idle captivity begin to blur together... what has it been now? Four, five days? It's hard to recall. There is little to do but wait and regather your strength...
Once we've tot'd up and split the XP appropriately we'll open the next chapter in this saga...

So in the calculation is should be

1) XP / Characters present for combat.
2) XP / Surviving Characters per Combat
3) XP / Characters present who made it out (i.e. the 4)

I read your request as #1 but I want to make sure. (Since #2 is most usual, but I've seen it done #3 before also. I do that actually :) )

I've always gone with #1.

I can see how #3 would make life a whole lot simpler, but I do prefer that XP is mostly from treasure. So I favor splitting any XP from combat between more PCs. I think this time around, the surviving four are going to get close to max possible XP they can earn anyways, so it might be moot.

As near as I can get it is

MONSTERS (Thread #)
  • Hobgoblin GateWaden (24188) ( 100 / 13 = 7.69 = 8xp ALL )
  • 11* Hobgoblins - The Refectory Ambush (24365) (1100 / 13 = 84.61 = 85xp ALL)
  • 1 Goblin /1 Hobgoblin / 1 Bugbear (24499) (200 / 13 = 15.38 = 15xp ALL)

    PARTY SPLIT: HOBBET GOES
  • 6 Hobgoblins / 1 Bugbear - Drop Wall Ambush (24648) ( 900 / 7 = 128.57 = 129XP Zem, Freid, Leudigar )
    PARTY SPLIT: GNOME KNOWS
  • 5 Goblins / 3 Hobgoblins (24626) (800 / 4 = 200xp = Karl)
  • 1 Goblin (Wood gatherer) (24879) (100 / 5 = 20xp Karl))
  • 1 Goblin / 1 Hobgoblin Alarm Rung (24906) (200 / 5 = 40xp = Karl)
  • 8 Hobgoblins / 1 Hobgoblin Sergeant - Tunnel pursit (900 / 6 = 150xp = Karl)
  • Goblin Anti-Hero (25508) (400 / 6 = 66.66 = 67xp = Karl)
    PARTY REJOIN
  • 2 Seers / 8 Skeletons ( 1000 / 12 = 83.3 = 83xp) (25612) (All)
  • 6 Zombies (26007) (600 / 10 = 60xp) All
  • 5 Headed-Hydra (26142) (500 / 9 = 55.55 = 56xp) (Note the escaped Seer was killed here) (All)
  • 9 Cultists (26608) (900 / 8 = 112.5 = 112xp) (All)
  • 2 Medeusa (26946) (800 / 6 = 133.33 = 133xp) (All)
*1 Hobgoblin escaped (24427)

552 Base

681 = Zem, Freid, Leudigar
1029 = Karl

I added Karl and Freid to the Monk total based on your criteria.

Using method #3 it would be max of.. (Shows that following Zax around was the right move :lol:
1300 Base
1500 = Zem, Freid, Leudigar
3700 - Karl

That's awesome thanks mgtremaine :D I presume that means:

1,233 XP Zem, Fried, Leudigar.
1,581 XP Karl.

Add these to your XP totals gents--along with your treasure XP, and your XP bonus (if any).

Remember that the most XP you can gain in a single adventure is enough to advance one experience level, up to 1 XP short of gaining a second experience level.
