Boggs says: "'Square spiral' is a good description. It seems like that room is deliberately inconvenient to get to, and has been undisturbed for some time. Might be a good place for a tomb, or a treasure hoard, or a staircase to another level. I'll take a turn guarding the boat room. I'd only get in the way of the fighters in the narrow corridor." He sends two of his men to check on, and change shifts with, the two men standing guard outside the ante room door. If the brute squad is looking short on numbers, then Boggs will volunteer his fifth and sixth man as additional muscle.

"Sounds like a job fer big fightin' men" says Lemmi with a sigh, "let me know when yer done boys," she adds with a nod.

She finds herself a seat on the boat and begins to clean under her nails with the tip of a dagger.

Morin returns to the door with Boggs' soldiery, and attempts to open the door.

Orim moves to join the scouting party. "About time yer back, we were startin' ta worry. Treasure ya say?" he asks, donning his helm.

Boggs sent two of his men to change shifts with those at the door, the Morin decided to go open the door, then Orim followed, now Mero joins.

I suppose the marching order in the hallway would be:

2 flunkies
Morin
Orim
Mero

There were two of Boggs men already positioned at the door, so upon arriving at the door Morin would find two more men ahead of him (if they are still there).

Morin has a lantern, so we have light.

As far as I can figure it, Boggs has two men guarding the ante door, two guarding the boat room door (just around the corner), and two more with the away group. Is that right?

Presumably each pair will be burning a torch down...

"Call me if you need an extra hammer, boys," grunts Walfried at the away team, glancing around at the not-well-armored troop left in the boat room, "but I think I better stay here in case of trouble."

He takes the opportunity to stretch, then resumes his vigil.

After a moment he speaks over his shoulder: "Would somebody check this chamber for secret doors or the like? Maybe take a closer look inside that boat? My eyes aren't what they used to be."

Here, says Chiron to Walfried. Hold my lantern while I climb in.

Chiron climbs into the boat and investigates more closely.

Brother Walfried leans his hammer against the wall & holds the lantern up high.
