"Life-sucking shadows?" Ulric says from his watch point. "Let's just get everyone back up here," he says with emphasis. "We're not here to fight shadows in a pit. We cannot afford any more losses."

Dorgan, his voice barely above a whisper, says "Many people lost their lives to the shadows below. I almost joined their ranks. We need to stop this now, before any more fall prey to their evil."

Dorgan then grunts, as if a painful thought just struck him.
"Please, someone ask Josiane down below to recover the Marrowstone. It's very important to the Dwarves. Ahem, and if she can look for my flask of spirits, too, that would be ok."

"We are in a den of evil Dorgan," Ulric says. "We must deal with the immediate threats first. I am amazed the werewolves have not descended upon us already. The shadows and their treasure can wait until we control this abbey."

Wen hears that the marrowstone is still below. "We can't loss such a relic, poor Dorgan would never recover. Battling the whatever is down there is too risky as Ulric points we can let the dead rest in their pit a while longer." With that Wen would put his bow down, stow the arrow and push his way to the pit opening. "Allow me to deliver the news and retrieve the stone. Olaf be ready to haul up the catch of the day.". Before going down the rope he would also remove his armor. "Easier this way". Once all that is down he would go down the rope.

"Oh...all right." Olaf steps aside and let's Wen take his place.
He grabs hold of the rope and says, "One of you rest for a minute or two while I take your place on the rope, then the other take a break while you take his place.

"Wen, that is a good idea! We will pull you back up on your signal." Highbough is quick to volunteer when it's an Elf on the end of the line!

Wen quickly vanishes down the chute, and then... ...there is an ominous wait... for a minute... two minutes...

Ulric returns to his watch on the large pit and the way they came for any sign of the werewolves and cultists.
"Someone watch the other passage while we wait for the signal," he says from his position.
