Thus, it would be fair to say these two trapdoors are already "trapped". If anyone were to open either trapdoor from below, there is a very good chance that the two large stones would toppled into the stair and make a royal racket.

Highbough is still on the roof in the rain. There might be an hour of gloomy light left in the day.

Everyone else is in either the mess hall, the kitchen (south of the mess hall) or the landing (north of the mess hall).

"After we check this out, I'm going to lay down for the evening, if the rest of you don't mind..."
