Desmond trots across the courtyard to examine the missile that flew out of the door...
After searching about in the long grass and rubbish for a few moments he recovers the remains of a large crossbow bolt. Such was the force of the impact that the stout wooden shaft is split and splintered! The dagger point is longer (and much sharper) than the Halfling's thumb, though now it has been bent to a right angle by the unyielding stone wall.

The lanky young fighting-Man steps through the doorway and into the gloomy hall...
