Cold as in "chilly" or cold as in "White Dragon breath"?

He peeks around the corner. At the end of the 10' of corridor, it opens up into a larger room, but his attention is drawn to a 4'-long scaly lizard, white-coloured and radiating the source of the chill he was feeling

"There's at least one scaly white lizard creature in the room - not a dragon but smaller, and it is emanating cold," Aldbane tells the others, keeping an eye on the corridor for now, in case it charges.

Aldbane closes the door and runs back to his companions. Hopefully that gives us time to prepare.

Aldbane safely closes the door and retreats

Let's wait and see if it follows him, or is happy just to sit in that room.
