Unable to stand seeing his comrades face another moment of deadly struggle while he stands by, Wetzel hands his torch off to anyone capable of receiving, or drops it on the ground, then recklessly charges into the fray. He fights entirely defensively, spear in one hand, dagger in the other, but hopes to at least attract some attention away from the more able-bodied, whilst keeping himself alive.
Updated signature & goldenrod to indicate spear+main gauche, assuming that combo is allowed for parry.

Zem shrugs aside both the feeble blows that have landed, getting a fresh grip on his axe, he let's out dwarven war cry."Hammer on Stone, Axe on Bone"

Zax has had enough of this - how can it be so hard to kill things that are already dead by Tazin?

He praises the gnomish forge-masters as a rotted finger lodges in his visor just short of his eye then snaps off as its owner joins the heap on the ground. Seeing but three remaining he casts an eye about for the hag that were about when he came in, and heads her way (removing any intervening obstacles with his pick).

Freid pushes forward to the line of combat, "Take a rest!" he says to the Herald as he takes his place in the line, "There will be plenty more after you have a breather!"

The Herald will not rest while Zax still fights. He does not yield his spot in the line.

Akbar is handed a torch. If possible, he'll move up towards the combat along with the others.

As Zax breaks through the battle line Wetzel takes his place, and Fried, Akbar and Karl form up in a second line ready to relieve anyone who should fall. Behind the melee, Dopey has found that flask of oil in his pack...

The fighting-men proceed to butcher the remaining zombies with a rare efficiency, but Zax has no sight of where the witch went... never mind. Glancing back over his shoulder he sees the zombies have all been destroyed; the battle is won!
Combat Turn Three

Movement Segment
Wetzel, Fried, Akbar, Karl form a second line.

Missile/Magic Segment
None.

Melee Segment
As combat was already in progress there will be up to three rounds of melee.

First Round
Zax, Zem, Leudigar, and The Herald vs three Zombies.
Players have the initiative: 3@ d20+1=10, 12, 17; 1@ d20=12; four hits!
4d6=10 (7, 4, 5 3, 9 3, 8 1, 7). drops a zombie.
Zombies: 2@ d20=8, 11. Two misses.

With that success, Zax burst through the line. Wetzel takes his place.

Second Round
Wetzel joins the combat (fighting defensively)
Players have the initiative: 2@ d20+1=21, 18 and 1@ d20=8; two hits; 2d6=10 (7, 4, 5 3, 9 3, 8 1, 7).
The final two zombies are destroyed.

No third round is necessary, the battle is won.

Remember it is traditional to take a breather after combat. Currently hp status is: Zax-4, Zem-1, Leudigar-5, Herald-3.

What next?

Karl will assist in the binding of any wounds, if needed.

Afterwards, he'll take his torch back and thank whoever held it for him, and stand guard over his resting comrades.
