As for bathing, Albert's inn only has two tubs. It might pay for some of you to visit the public baths and get a serious hosing down.

The attire of those who have been away for a week or more is in a very shabby state also. As though it has been slept on and torn up by wolves for a fortnight. Which it more or less has. No-one is looking any more impressive than a grubby mercenary fighter after two weeks on campaign.

"Yes a bath. New clothes as well I think before we try any bargaining. Gustave should be able to obtain a good sum for the necklace, but not in his current state."

"We'll also need to visit the Temple of Thuul to see if they can identify the nature of the magic on the spear and dagger. Perhaps even this copper vial. That may be faster than my own research."

"Once we have gotten cleaned up and secured proper lodgings I will need some time to study before we depart again."

"I agree Olaf, human bearers would be better than mules and carts. Much more versatile and not quite so hard to move along. But let's worry about that once we decide where our next expedition will take us."

"But for now, let's get these coins counted and divided and have some breakfast."

OOC: Ehiker, you math looks good except for the extra (1 less gp unfortunately); so these are our shares:

Splitting coin amongst 7 PCs (1x share) and 3 NPCs (.5x share)...

53gp, 1586sp, 3044cp

PCs: 6gp, 186sp, 358cp
NPCs: 3gp, 93sp, 179cp

Remaining: 2gp, 5sp, 1cp

I agree the excess should be used to try to rent some permanent rooms.

The talk is all of breakfast, baths and the disappearance of Mads when Albert comes clomping down the stairs into the cellar with another lantern.

"Goodness gracious moi!" he exclaims in some shock when he spies the company still lurking beneath his common room. "Oi'd quite forgotten about you good people, Io had," he says, dabbing a handkerchief to his sweaty forehead.

"No doubt ye'll be after a feed, io'll guess, and then a good clean up, no? Come up then, and io'll about some breakfast!"

Seeing as everyone is "here now" and hungry, it makes good sense to break your fast before dawn, and then get on with your other chores as the business day winds up in Ket.

For those that are agreeable, they can go up to the common room while Albert gets himself busy in the kitchen preparing a delicious round of hot coffee, scones with jam and cream, delicious toast with fried beans, tomato, eggs and sausages. In all it is a veritable feast! And a royal bargain at only 2 cp per head

...

While the company wades hungrily through the lavish breakfast, Albert comes and goes with more food and beverages such that no-one goes without, all the while nattering about the trivial details of where every items of produce was sourced, whose eggs are better than whose this week, what milk is richer, the best way to fried an egg and so on. It is mindless but pleasant banter, and within the hour everyone has well and truly eaten their 2 coppers worth!

At last Albert gets to figuring his due, scratching his head with a pencil as he goes through the long list of drinks, cigars, meals, and lodgings the company have enjoyed.

"Well," he mumbles through the numbers to himself, "Let's just call it 16 silver shillings all told, shall we?"

(That makes it 1sp and 1 cp each)

...

Drinks for 15, say 2cp each,
3 cigars @ 1cp
An evening meal for 15 @2cp,
Use of the cellar for the night @11cp,
Breakfast for 14 @2cp (Mads is missing)
102cp = 17sp

Okay, so far as I have it,

Dorgan wants to collect Holy water from the Temple of Thuul, and purchase a shield.

Josiane wants also wants to collect Holy water from the Temple of Thuul.

Desmond/Mondes wants someone else to go purchase a cloak for him, and then see about some adventuring supplies.

Olaf wants a bath (as does most of the company), and for someone else to trade the necklace for coin? And then to find out what is going on with these supposed un-dead.

Gustave has agreed to sell the jewellery, after a bath.

Ulric has it in mind to bathe and visit a tailor, before approaching the Temple of Thuul to identify the curiosities the company has unearthed...

In the absence of other instructions it seems likely that the bulk of the company will hit the public baths, and then the tailors' stores in order to make themselves presentable, while Dorgan and Josiane visit the Temple of Thuul once more. Ser Pelenwin, a very grubby knight Templar, will accompany them.

Guntram is not especially in need of washing or new clothes, nor is Percy.

What, gentlemen, is to be done with the loot while all this takes place?

Josiane will take the opportunity to wash here as Albert is indicating it's available. (She's fussy about personal hygene). She eats a hearty breakfast first.

In addition to the holy water, she is looking to purchase herself a few good sharp stakes and mallet. Some oil and torches would probably be a good idea too, if her share of their meager take from their previous adventure will stretch to it.

She greets her new-found companions with a warm smile, though her face is pale and the rings around her eyes testify to the relatively sleepless night she has undergone, not helped by the disappearance of Mads.

Realising for the first time the company contains a Knight of the Guardian Path, she greets Pelenwin
enthusiastically; "Thuul's blessing unto you, Brother! It gladdens my heart to walk in the company of another of the Faith! I am Josiane, foster-daughter to the late Sir Jehan the Venturous. How are you called?"

(O.O.C: I'm taking it Desmond/Mondes is/are still keeping him/themselves relatively hidden? Please tip me the nod as soon as the nature of this double-act becomes clear to her... )

Err.... as of yet, there is no proper cloak to do any hiding (Desmond is not wearing a potato sack), so it should be pretty apparent if you spend any time with the party.

He does want to wash up, as well... Mondes is dirty. So if possible, he would like to do that in the inn vs. a public bath house, as well.

As he's cleaning himself up, Desmond frowns at the thought of how many times he's going to have to endure, "well, they say two heads is better than one!" and wonders how easily it might be to pass himself off as a baby ettin...

"We should go out in shifts," Ulric suggests. "Walking around town with large sacks of coin would be a mistake and we should not leave it here unguarded. We could pass Albert some more coppers for the continued use of his cellar. But who would like to see about securing more permanent lodgings? I could take part in that venture; I could put off my visit to the temple until later. Gustave may be well suited to bargaining for the best price as well."

OOC:

Gustave should take these items to be sold:

*A dazzling silver necklace adorned with a dozen transparent stones,
*Brigand's brass ring,
*13 odd foreign looking coins with holes in the middle. Of these, 5 appear to be of nickel and 8 of brass,

These could be claimed by any that want them:

a set of six gambling dice,
a rabbit-paw charm,
a small bottle containing an ant farm,
a deck of 30-odd grubby playing cards,
Deggerhund's axe (pole-axe sized for a Man),
Wulfric's clay pipe,
Wulfric's tobbacco,

These may have some other use:

A large iron key,
Warg collar coin-sized iron token.
