OOC: So at this point, the party is in the room with the sunken stairs? Or are they closer or farther away from the tomb entrance than the sunken room?

Yes, the company is entering the chamber (known as the First Vault) with the sunken stair from the far side.

"We encountered a fiend identical to the three we just fought, Lord
Ulric," says
Josiane grimly; "and I am now bereft of spells and holy water. Nonetheless, we can only go on."
Assuming she is happy there is no immediate threat she leads the company down the stairway.

The company makes all due haste, marching down the stair into the cold vault, and then right back up again. Though the air is chill and the stink of burned flesh strong, no ambling corpses bar their flight.
Highbough cannot hear anything beyond the racket of tramping feet and shunking mail, and nor can Gustave find refreshments in his pack while on the move.
At the lead, Josiane continues boldly up the stair to the dark and narrow passage that leads back toward the ante-chamber. It is one-abreast down there, and her skin prickles in anticipation...

OOC: How long is the corridor. How far would Ulric need to go to be able to toss a fireball into the ante-chamber ahead of our entry?
