I've just noticed that on the final arty version of the map the second door behind Thanis has been drawn as an open archway. Do you want me to retcon it that way, or stick with the door?
I say retcon. :) But we don't know what ANY of the map looks like! When can we see it???

Tass would cautiously go back down the stairs. "I don't recommend going that way, something terrible is going on up there."

As Tass eeks out a careful return route, the others look into the archway opposite the charnel room.

Beyond it a wide, daylit hall leads all the way to the very back of the cathedral. At the far end is an old, disused looking shrine centered about a 10ft tall statue-figure, which is oddly draped in a dust cover so that only its outstretched arms are visible. Behind the statue is a wide semi-circular reredos, muted by age. Above this fixture is an array of damaged stained-glass windows extending 20ft or so upward to the lofty, pitched ceiling. Despite their poor condition, the windows are illuminated magnificently by the daylight outside.

There are two doorways exiting this inner sanctum, about half way down its length; one to the left, the other to the right.
Door way into the inner sanctum (formerly the "clear air door") retcon'd into an arch :)
What now?

Thanis proposes they enter the daylit hall and turn... left.

Alrighty. Which way people?
The smelly door?
The clear air door?
Or... straight ahead to the end of the passage, which turns left again (back toward the main hall/nave and the Reverend)?
If we're abandoning the smelly door, and we don't want to go down the passage because it leads back to the Reverend, then let's go to the clean air door, which I assume has been retconned into an arch.

Garamon nods agreement.

Goldwen lets out an inaudible sigh of relief when Thanis suggests going through the open archway. She feels the presence of something evil inside the charnal room...

She quickly backs up Garamon with a vocal agreement, "Yes, let's explore that way first."

So far we have suggestion and agreement to enter the shrine hall... who is going in?

Tass would check the archway for traps before anyone goes through. Then he would fall back into line as follow the others.

Everybody waits patiently as Tass returns from the stair and passes across the hallway (brining the sordid odour of his prior gutter crawl, combined now with the rancid pong of the meat locker with him) to check the old stonework of the archway and floor beneath it. Both are show the wear of centuries, but nothing about the stonework seems untoward to the Hobbet... there is no tripwire, no trap door, no optical illusion. It's just an everyday, four hundred year old, cathedral archway.
Hobbets being renowned stone masons and all... lol :D
