Some quick questions, WOTE:

1. Desmond upgraded to chainmail armour. That's still AC5, but lets him keep his dex bonus, correct? Or what's the change there?

2. Does Desmond still have the CON damage? Or is he back to normal now?

3. Speaking of Con (it's not a dump stat!)... after attaining his second level (in the most undramatic fashion of being cared for by a gaggle of nuns), what is his new HP total? Any other changes for attaining lvl 2?

Finally, deducted 46 sp for the donation and the mule and 21 sp (no heavy drinking for Desmond, obviously, since he was under the care of the sisters) for a week of lodging.

Desmond's old armour (hide) was type: medium/hide. His new armour (chainmail) is type: medium/mail. Both are base AC5 but slashing weapons are +1 versus hide, +0 versus mail.

Yes, Desmond will keep his dex bonus to AC so long as he does not wear heavy armour.

Desmond's constitution is back to full (14).

Now that he is a Veteran (2nd level fighter) with 14 constitution, Desmond has 2+5 HD. I rolled (2d6=5,2), so his total hit points are now 12.

His attack rolls are improved by 1 pip (due to now have 2 HD).

He adds +1 damage in melee combat (half HD, rounded down).

His (front) AC is improved by 1 pip (half HD, rounded down), to 4 (front) / 6 (rear). If he bought a helm it would be improved by another pip. So too, a shield; but he requires two hands to wield Mads' axe.

His saving throws are improved by 1 pip (now requires a 14+ to save),

Ah, but he (they) did! Bought steel caps when he picked up the chainmail.

Or, if that was never actually done (I remember posting it...), then he(they) will do that.

Thanks for the rest of the info! Will update the character sheet accordingly.

I remember reading it, Ehiker. I must have been at work or elsewhere when I did though, since I didn't update my notes. I will go back and update things appropriately... so Desmond's AC is in fact 3/5 (front/rear).

The Effable Apperception will enable Ulric to read spells penned in a language he does not otherwise understand. But it doesn't grant him automatic understanding of a new spell. So in short, it will overcome the language barrier (if there is one), but Ulric will still need time to solve the mystery of using each new spell, as per usual.

Yes. In the draconnic script, I am assuming.

So, shall I assume that the company desires to lease the manse at number eight Eagle Street?

This will cost 600 silver per month.

A bond of 600 sp (or some object of equivalent value) is required.

You must pay the rent one month in advance, and a minimum of one month notice is required to vacate the premises.

The owner (or his agent) is allowed to inspect the premises on the first day of each month.

I.e., you will need to find 1,200 sp in order to secure the premesis and move in...
