Dorgan will put his vial of holy water back on his bandoleer and draw his axe again.
He'll stay as close to Josiane as he can.

She returns the coin to her purse and draws her sword.
"Shall we move on?"
Gustave's brow is lofty with scepticism at this mode of navigation. Nonetheless, he draws his blade and approaches the indicated portal, muttering "
I suppose a coin is as good a guide as any down here..." as he goes.

"No mere coin, Lord
Gustave,"
Josiane replies earnestly; "My foster-father held there was an enchantment about it to help guide one's actions. It served him well for many years... Well, until he was eaten by a wyvern," she finishes, a little apologetically.
And with that, if the rest of the company is ready, she starts towards the right-hand stair. She is happy to take the lead if no-one else wishes to, (though if
Dorgan would walk beside her it would be a great comfort...

Very well.
Guntrum takes stock of the lanterns... both Highbough's and Ulric's must be near to three-quarters full yet. And Olaf's scepter continues to give its unrelenting glare.
Highbough picks up two pocket fulls of coins from the floor as the company forms up behind Josiane and Dorgan, preparing to descend further.
When all are ready, Josiane turns to her right and leads the company down the cold, narrow stair...

...to emerge onto a landing, perhaps a dozen yards wide, which lacks an opposite wall entirely! After the confine of the narrow stair, the vast open blackness only 20ft in front of you is shocking. You have the impression that the dark vault ahead is large, and the pong of old, rotted meat all but smacks you in the face.
There are two 5ft wide catwalks leads away from the landing; to the left and the right -- either walk running about the perimeter of the dark gulf ahead.
But what snares your attention immediately is a stone platform ahead. It stands alone in the dark, separated by some 40ft of void, and raised up from the pit below. It is lit by an eerie amber-green flame that burns low in a brazier at one end of the 20ft diameter circle of stone, and upon it lies a heavy stone sarcophagi. And upon that is graven the figure of a knight at rest in full plate armour.
The vault is silent but for your breathing and hissing lanterns. And it is cold.
How one should reach the platform is not yet apparent...

"I can cross the void, holding one end of a rope," whispers Highbough, "but I would be completely vulnerable to attack during the crossing. I'd like to know nothing will attack me before I take the leap of faith."
His plan also depends on anchor points to affix the rope, so he starts looking for suitable objects at each end (maybe the brazier on the far side?)

"Olaf could jump over with his ring," Ulric suggests looking to the wounded warrior. "Perhaps there is a mechanism over there that will lower or raise a bridge?"
"I, however, would vote that we return from where we came so that we can properly recover before more of us die. This path," Ulric says pointing across the void, "will most certainly lead to unnecessary death."
