Yes, I realise that the PCs are trying to form a defensible line.

I did create a mud-map of everyone's relative positions, but in the end I thought it more appropriate not to post it yet since keeping the players somewhat "in the dark" is rather realistic given the present circumstances. I.e., it is dark, and there is a madly chaotic battle erupting.

Soval was on guard not too far from Hollin Gate. He is aware that Orcs are rushing the camp from both ahead of him, and behind him.

I have him back-pedaling in the melee to join his Men in the camp. He will be there this up coming round.

"It seems that doom has comes early", whispers Legandir to himself. He drops his magnificent bow to the ground, arms his Rivendell shield and pulls Morfil from its sheath. It's blue fire is resplendent, fueled by so many of the foe.

"For Urbrinduil, for Rivendell!" he yells, and charges into the thickest of the enemy.

Norin can crawl and gasp feebly for help, if he makes an heroic effort

Nah. That's alright. He'll play dead for now, hoping he doesn't become so.

"Lmluin many thanks, you are a friend I will never forgot", crys ‰ohild in a loud whisper with all her strength as an encouragement to her protectors. She has never felt so hopeless before in her life.

Baraglin curses himself for assuming the big folks knew what they were doing. "Of course we get attacked, nobody wants me to get a good nights sleep in the ghastly place."

Baraglin is not going down without a fight he would back himself up towards the cliff wall make sure there are plenty of people in front of him. If anyone seems "lost" he would have no problem barking orders at them to form a line - in front of him. "You dwarves prepare a shield wall, they are coming through the camp, give him hell, make them pay, form up now!!!!".

He would have his sword ready, but look for chance to either use his sling or throw a Flask of Oil on the fire, he like to get the fire built up to shed more light and doesn't care much what fuel is used. If there is something light enough that can be easily soaked in oil and thrown in the fire he would do it. (So long as it doesn't belong to him)

"Courage, Lady," Lmluin whispers back to Eohild; "I do not mean to die here and neither shall you."

His eyes dart every which way, trying to make sense of the chaos erupting around him. (He notes with some surprise the suddenly martial and order-barking Baraglin Banks. Who would have thought the Halfling had it in him? Perhaps he has been unfairly-dismissive of the Small Folk up to now. He hopes he will get the chance to say as much).

His priority remains to get Eohild to safety behind a defensive formation, (assuming Norin's still playing possum). After that, he wants to link up with Soval, locate Telthalion and hopefully get to the company's animals. He thinks they're going to need them...

Needless to say, any Orc trying to impede any of the above will incur his extreme displeasure...
