Dorgan holds out his torch expectantly for Highbough to take.

Yeah, I was wondering about that, too. But
Dieter has already moved further into the room.

Josiane will fall back to the door, kneel down and whisper the news of their grim discovery to Olaf and the others.
"Living or dead, they have been taken deeper into the vault," she concludes; "We must follow this trail to have answers."
She will take a moment to examine her side of the door for any sign of levers, pulleys or anything else that looks like an opening mechanism, although she will be careful not to touch anything at this stage.
"Have you any joy of this door, Dorgan?" she will whisper through the opening if her own examination turns up nothing, as much to hear the reassuring growl of her friend's voice as anything else...

"I'll have a look see for ya, Miss," Dorgan responds. He will examine the walls on either side of the door, and the floor below it.
On the wall, the dwarf is looking for anything that can be pushed, pulled, or twisted. He's also looking for anything that could be a keyhole.
On the floor, he's searching for pressure plates, false tiles, and the like.
Should his search outside the door fail to uncover anything, he'll slide under the door and resume his examination on the other side.

The evidence is not overly encouraging.
None the less, Josiane examines the partly raised door from within the third vault by the light of her sputtering, but there is no lever or handle to be seen.
Dorgan examines the same door from the outside. He is particularly interested in the runners to either side of the door which guide its raising and falling. These look to be a regularly holed track, and (by turning his head most awkwardly to look directly up from underneath the door) he sees also that the door itself seems to run on cogged wheels embedded within its thickness. It's a nice piece o' work, but nothing the Dwarf hasn't seen before. If Dorgan has the right of it, there'll be a system of counter-weight somewhere that raise and lower the thing. Only question is... how to trigger 'em?

Dorgan begins to think out loud as he examines the door.
"Hmm, if the wheels that run this door up and down are built in the door itself, mebbe the trigger is also in the door."
The dwarf will examine the door to see if there is some sort of handle or trigger that would operate the counter weights.

...but no such thing can be found. The door is an implacable stone face with the likeness of a fell knight carved upon it.

"Wait!" Olaf whispers back, "If you are going deeper, then we ALL need to go. You just saw what trouble dividing the party can do!"
The young warrior turns to the others in the 2nd vault and says, "They are moving deeper. We need to stick together and not get separated."
"Follow me." he says as he gets down on all fours and slips under the door quickly.
"I don't like this." he says in a whisper as he looks around and moves away from the door not touching anything in the room, "I would prefer to leave the dead to their own peace, and return to the surface, but if the rest of you are going deeper to search for Wibert and Pel, then I'm coming with you."
"And so should the rest of our company."

"I don't like your plan," grumbles Highbough. He crosses his arms and turns his back on the party. As the oppressive darkness closes in from all sides, he has a sudden change of heart. "Wait for me!"
(In-character, Highbough would vote to return to the surface in accordance with his Neutral alignment. Out-of-character, he is not wounded and there is gold to be had, so let's keep going! Got to figure out that door first, though...)
