Alrighty. Which way people?
The smelly door?
The clear air door?
Or... straight ahead to the end of the passage, which turns left again (back toward the main hall/nave and the Reverend)?

"Stout door would be holding something in methinks," Garamon gripping his spear with a look of distaste,
"let's take a look in there first." I love breaking the seal and then being overruled.

If Garamon is opening, he'll definitely put an ear to it first to see if there's any sound he can hear being the stinky door.

Garamon shuffles up the marching order to listen at the stout, iron bound door but, like Thanis, his ears give him no clue what might lie beyond.

Thanis says, There may be foul beasts within that feast on the garbage of others. Open the door but tread lightly.

Garamon opens the door and prepares to tread lightly, or for an attack if it comes.

Garamon turns the rusty, iron handle firmly and gives the heavy door a solid shove with his shoulder.
The door creaks inward, and both Garamon and Thanis immediately recoil from the pungent odour that washes over them; the unmistakable pong of rotten meat.
Inside is a dimly lit and crowded cloister, hardly 20x20 ft of floor space. The wretched air is buzzing with flies and the stone floor littered with bones and unidentifiable carrion.
A rickety, wooden stair climbs steeply up the inside perimeter of the tower walls, ascending to a timber floor above. Looking up, Garamon sees a 10-ft diameter, circular opening in that floor, through which four thick, heavily soiled ropes dangle invitingly...
Door push roll 1d6=5. No problem.
