Olaf says, "I've been told that fish rise to the surface early in the morning and late in the afternoon...the early rise and the late rise. Those are said to be the best time to hunt for fish, but I'm not an expert at such things. Have we a fisherman among us?"

Highbough knows a thing or two about fishing. He will try to spear a big one.

Also he would like to swap out his spell for the day and memorize The Acclivitous Smaze.

Very good.

Ulric and Highbough fall into their meditations while Wibert goes looking for something to shoot in cold, canyon-lands, while and Olaf and Desmond (and nay-saying Mondes) head to the babbling stream in search of the morning fish.

The others see to honing the edges of blades, cleaning filthy armour, and re-packing the loot and other meagre supplies...

An hour passes.

Highbough and Ulric have memorised their sorceries.

Wibert (1d6=4) returns to camp with a 6in long, grey lizard.

Olaf and Desmond/Mondes (1d6=1) come up empty handed, however.

It is a pretty poor haul, but the morning is marching on, and despite the general hunger about the camp, a nervous quiet seems to have settled around you...

When was the last time anyone heard a bird chirp?

"Our bellies will have to wait for now", he adds, spying Wiberts meager haul.
With that he hauls his loaded pack and sets off, sword limp but ready.

Despite the disappointing lack of any breakfast, the company quickly brake camp and get under way. Belts are tightened, packs are hoisted, and heavy sacks full of silver are lugged over shoulders as the company sets out once more to follow the stream along its north westerly course.

The morning is chilly, but not wet, and like yesterday afternoon there is little cloud cover to speak of. In fact the small sun shine is rather pleasant on this otherwise grim morning.

The terrain about is rocky and rather barren. There are only small wiry bushes and tufts of hardy grass growing between rocks, and little wild-life to speak of.

The company marches on...

Midday draws nearer as a darker cloud head can be seen gathering ahead of you. It bodes some worse weather to come...

Everyone is feeling very hungry and tetchy. Mondes, in particular, seems to have a foul mouthed comment to dispatch with almost every pace!

The sacks of silver weigh heavily upon your stooped shoulders, and you are all in dire need of a rest. And some food.

Olaf has recently been on point, and is just a few dozen strides ahead of the weary company at the top of a low rise. From his position his sharp eyes catch movement ahead.

He ducks down to spy out who it might be... and his heart sinks into his boots.

A band of half a dozen or so warg riders are bounding down the river valley toward him! They might be sixty yards off yet... on both sides of the narrow stream it seems. He doesn't think they have seen him yet.

What now?
