Ulric offers his silk rope and three spare flasks of oil to anyone who will carry them then collects the more arcane items from Flewellen's body as well as the coin purse.
"Someone should collect Flewellen's rations and oil as well," he suggests to those around him. "They may prove useful."
After carefully packing away the items, Ulric stands ready to move ahead.
OOC: Ulric collects the following from Flewellen:
Coin purse containing 3gp, 10sp, 13cp (1/2 stone)
A pot of writing ink,
Two empty 1 Oz stoppered glass bottles,
A stoppered glass vial containing a clear fluid,
A miniature wooden chest,
A stoppered glass flask containing a honey-thick tar (1/2 stone),
A copper scroll case containing 3 arcane scrolls (1/2 stone),
Two small pouches of a sand-like substance,
A waxed satchel containing a scruffy leather bound journal and 6 sheets of parchment (1 stone)
He leaves his 60' of silk rope and 3 flasks of oil with the remainder of Flewellen's items.

Very well.
Ulric is carrying exactly as much as he can carry -- including three bulky tomes!
Gustave slings Ulric's silk rope over one shoulder, and straps three flasks of lantern oil over the other. Just so he has something to burn the oil in he also picks up Flewellen's hooded lantern. He wouldn't want to carry much more.

Padrig will pick up his torch before he leaves, and say a quick prayer for Flewellen, that his soul may be at rest. Padrig will carry Flewellen's Waterskin and Bedroll.
OOC: Can I assume we always pick up our stuff when we move off, if I forget to say it, including shot arrows unless they are broken.
"Gustave we will need Flewellen's lantern in this dark place, look after it well", speaks Padrig.
When we get to the grim ante can Padrig use his elven hearing to locate the source of the echo of strange distant laughter?

Padrig is already carrying as much gear as he can manage -- including (for your information) a dozen candles, a bulky spell book, two weighty scroll cases full of parchment and scrolls, a score of arrows, 3 spare torches in addition to the burning one, not one but two holy symbols, two flasks of holy water, a flask of lantern oil, a spear, a bow, a metal shield, a suit of bulky hide armour, a week of rations, a full water skin, and a pack full of other paraphernalia. It is surprising he can move at all!

You won't leave possessions behind unless you (or I) specifically say so, but you will have to search for fired missiles explicitly.

Padrig says his quiet Elvish prayers for the fallen Man... though he doubts the spirits faerie will concern themselves with the passing of a mere Man. Still, he was a brave and decent fellow, even if he wasn't of the fair folk.
That done,
Padrig tilts his head to listen to the strange echoes. There is too much movement of armoured Men about him and the ante is still blocked by those ahead of him. He will have to wait until the company moves on before he can reach the ante and get a good opportunity to listen carefully, but when he gets there he will...

OOC: Just to note, Ulric left his bedroll and rations in the cart before entering the gatehouse. See post #268 in 'The Expedition North' thread.

Olaf moves forward to the falling Templar and kneels next to Ulric, "He's gone? Such a tragedy that he was killed by friendly fire."
"I'm afraid Flewellen has departed this world," he says finally. He extracts the massive arbalest bolt from Flewellen's body and lays it on the floor. That being done, Ulric begins to collect scrolls, books, and other oddities that the young alchemist had in his possession. "Flewellen's skill may yet protect us from further harm."
Olaf stands and lets out a string of curses before finishing with, "This is not the first time we have shot our own in the back, but by the gods, it should be the last!"
"We must have discipline with our fire." Olaf's fist pounds in to his open palm, "We must! A good man lies dead and more than a few of us already bear wounds from bowmen firing into melee."
"We need a better plan for this than we've shown so far."
