Your fast is broken, spells are memorised, and armour is donned, arms checked and packs slung over shoulders. When dawn is but an hour gone you are ready to face the darkness beneath.
Anwyn and Caine lead the way to the stair, with Taines following closely. Before you descend, the Dwarf ignites the lamp of his sapper's helm.

Gentlemen, what shall be the single file marching order?

(OOC: Zoinks! Single file!)
Anwyn suggests that Taines go in front with his lantern-helm and she will follow him, bow ready to fire over his head.
She waits for others to tell her what to do, though.

Ulric settles himself into the middle of the group. He lights his own lantern to provide more light in the cramped, dark passages.

Mads the Fair
Mads suggests the following order, based upon the apparent health and sturdiness of his companions and their respective abilities. Taine's strong, brave, and short enough to allow Anwyn to fire over him. Victor is a stout line of defense for Ulric, whose close enough to the action to release his spells but still secure from both front and rear charges. Mads, with his bow and axe, he can provide different kinds of support for both the front and rear of the party. Olaf, still weak from his encounter with the spider, is safe in the back, buffered by the keen Caine, but still strong enough to help Rodrick against an ambush--who at the back is in a good position to defend and heal those who might have to fall back.

That works for me!
I might suggest putting Caine at the very rear as a scout for any rear attacking ambushes. I think he'd be less likely to be surprised than Rodrick or Olaf, but I don't know if we need to worry too much about attacks from the rear. What do you all think?

Hee, hee! I thought we were missing someone..."Say where did Dieter go?"
How about up with Anwyn and Taines...3rd in the marching order? Or, maybe better to ask, were would *you* like Dieter to be in the marching order?
