Once the others are clear, Ulric will cast The Anthracite Sufferance to burn the corpses.

OOC: This may need to wait a round, but I wanted to get this in before going offline.

Highbough backs away so he doesn't get burned by friendly fire. He will defend himself with the spear if they get too close. Is Highbough correct in assuming the one he poked with his magic weapon did not reanimate?

"Ooy?" quips Gustave as Ulric makes his proclamation of fire. Having noted the devastating effects of this before, he is quick to leave the animating corpses to the oven, and instead pursues Dieter and Desmond into the further chambers in search of the missing chef.

{Actually, having said all this, I'm not sure we have a light and so may be forced to move at the same time as the others.}
Dorgan took one torch from Josiane and I believe she still has another.

rleduc wrote:"Good Dorgan, you go before the Lady and I'll watch the rear. That way, you both can descend facing forwards.". Guntrum will then descend facing down the stairs, but stopping and turning every few steps or seconds to watch the rear.
"Not so fast, Guntrum. We've finally cleared the path 'tween us 'n' the others. We should hold the high ground here and let them come ta us."

Dorgan looks down briefly at the steep staircase and then back at the passageway.

"'Sides, I think we want to keep the Miss on steady ground."

"As seems best to you, good Dwarf. However, in that case it may be best to hold the passage where we were rather than move at all."

"So, are Pel and Wibert behind that stone door?" Olaf asks Dieter, "Did they stumble into a trap?"

The First Vault

Dorgan, then Josiane, then Guntrum (keeping an eye out behind) descend the near stair (1d6=3) but alas, navigating the narrow stair is too much for Josiane to maintain her chant, and by the time the trio reach the floor, it is ended.

Meanwhile, at the far landing Ulric urges the heroes to make way for him, and as the pair of rotted corpses lurch to their awful feet once more he hurls another blast of scorching copper-fire at them (1dd+3=7), suddenly heating the chill room and forcing back the darkness for a moment. When the hot blasts subsides, the walking dead are nothing more than charred remains which tumble, smouldering, down the stair and into the black pit below.
