30-40 feet away in the other room, but can probably get a sling off

If/when Aldbane is aware of the mage, he will cast
hold person on him.
I did a search and it appears Aldbane has not used hold person in this delve yet.

"zzzzzzz....*snorkgurgle*....zzzzzz" Maloof gently twitches his leg as if chasing a rabbit in a dream (or perhaps he is dreaming he is the rabbit, who knows what a gnome might dream of?)

Franklin fires his sling as an insurance policy in case the magician resists Aldbane's hold person spell.

If Aldbane's hold doesn't take effect, and if he has a clear shot, Wiglaff will use the wand of cold on this guy, who surely deserves it.
If the hold does take effect, and there's nobody else in the room, Wiglaff will walk over and relieve the caster of any weapons/wands, and bind him with rope & gag him.

The caster is near the sleeping henchies, so a cone of cold will probably kill the henchies

I am going to rule that Franklin fires a sling stone, then Aldbane casts Hold Person, and Wiglaff will hold his wand so as not to kill his companions.
Does Rhod have any actions he wishes to state?

The caster holds up his hands
"Hold - let's talk! They are only sleeping, I harmed no one!"

While the magician may have used non-lethal force, nevertheless, sucker-punching Franklin's friends was a hostile and aggressive action. Franklin didn't choose this battle, but he's not going to let the escalation against his friends go unpunished. Pew pew pew goes his little sling!
(If Franklin misjudged his character, then may the dice gods save him.)

Aldbane still casts his spell, not sure if this is some sort of trick by the mage to get us to let our guard down.
