Dame Simonetta finds this room passing strange. Of what purpose such a trap? After Dougal and Robur give the all-clear, she will inspect the wall for secret doors.

Robur carefully points out the pressure plate to his friends, so that nobody makes the blunder of accidentally triggering the trap (assuming for the sake of argument that the trap is still loaded).

Wilbur thinks that the skeleton has been dead a long time. The sword in its hand does look unusually "shiny" and well preserved!

Dame Simonetta looks thoroughly, but does not find any secret doors.

Dougal hands the sword over to Wilbur to examine, then he goes through the dead hobbet's pack, looking for anything of interest.

"Time to see what's in it's backpack," says Robur.

Robur waves the others over as he opens the backpack to see what's inside...

Dougal hands the sword
Here we go, hold on tight Hobbet Heroes...

Dougal reaches out for the sword... and the skeleton 'yoinks' it back out of his reach! Whaaaa---?

(Dame Simonetta's owl medallion sounds a feeble warning, too little, too late.)

Dougal feels the skeleton's left hand latch on to his right ankle, which the skeleton uses as leverage to make a chop-attack with the magic sword in its right hand. (1d20=12-1=11, miss) But Dougal stomps down with his other foot and pins the blade to the floor. It's a temporary stalemate situation, with the legless skeleton torso trying to wrestle the sword out from under Dougal's foot.

There must be some lingering connection between the bones of the top and bottom half of the body. At the same moment the torso comes back to life, the legs are reanimated as well. The skeleton hobbet legs start to twitch and flail, sending a wild kick right at...

Robur unsure of what to do in all the panic draws his Hobbit dagger and crouches down low to slash at the legs or torso (whichever is closest!)

Dougal immediately drops to the ground and lays as flat as possible, anticipating the worst.

Doesn't look like Noh ever entered the room. Any plant or fungi growth in the room? Can Entangle be cast, from outside the room, to provide protection from a flying saw blade, like a wall/shield?

Dame Simonetta follows Dougal's example and drops quickly to the ground. She will then crawl in Dougal's direction to lend aid against the animated half-skeleton-top.

OOC: Good idea @rredmond but I am going to rule no: the room is bare of fungi.
