Beppo was ready to help scoop out the gold coins, but then paused to see what would happen to the others first.

Dougal throws the coin and feels a sense of lawfulness and well-being. His MYTHOS score decreases 1 point (from 3 to 2).
Robur notices that the water feels thick and viscous on his feet. It is unexpectedly warm, almost body temperature. The water tastes foul and metallic; Robur cannot force himself to swallow and spits it out reflexively.

Dame Simonetta, encouraged by the feeling she is getting from her medallion, also throws in a coin.

Dame Simonetta likewise feels calm and grounded (Mythos decrease from 3 to 2).

Noh shrugs and tosses a coin in, also giving
Carc a coin to drop in as well.
Let’s see if it affects those of us with no Mythos issues

((Obviously, Robur would not know in character the benefits of throwing the coins in the water on a character's Mythos score)) The syrupy water seems safe enough even though it's a little metallic, thinks Robur. "Seems like a shame to leave all this treasure. Maybe I can get the other coins and return the ones to my friends?" says Robur quietly to himself. He quickly takes off his pack and important items leaving them by the water, and jumps into the pool with just his pants on to try and grab the coins at the bottom.

Noh feels a sense of calm and well-being, but no mechanical effect (since his Myth was already zero).
Carc disobeys his master, flies off into the shadows at the edge of lantern light, and follows his instinct to cache the shiny object. (Carc obedience check 1d6=3. Bird-Brain stashes away the coin in some hard-to-reach nook or cranny of the caverns.)
Robur strips down and dives 10' to the bottom of the well. As soon as he disturbs one of the coins, he immediately feels the "water" thicken around him. The viscosity of the substance changes from syrupy to gelatinous, and Robur is trapped 10' below the surface, suspended like a grape in a gelatin mold. He feels his skin start to burn and tingle, and (of course) he cannot breathe!
(Robur save vs. paralysis 1d20=7, fail.)
The liquid is translucent, not opaque, meaning that the other Hobbets can see Robur's struggles!
