Dame Simonetta received the finest education and is fluent in 8 languages (including classical Greek).

Robur with his INT 11 gets 1 bonus language. I don't think you picked one yet? It could be Greek if you want, or any other language. House rule, I also allow you to keep the bonus language slot open and unallocated, for a language to be chosen later.

Kiplyn peeks at Statue and squints and bit.
Kiplyn might actually know Greek.. I mean he's got 14 INT and 6 Languages to bitch and moan in. But the other language is a nope.

I will actually pick Dwarven for Robur as it is more likely with his family business that he and his father were selling barrels of mead to beer loving dwarves...

Robur can have dwarven as a bonus language if you like, but he would have learned it recently (on this expedition, from the discovered artifacts). Robur's father always told him dwarves were make believe. No living hobbet has ever met a dwarf, and they are widely believed to be mythical creatures. The party is finding archaeological clues that dwarves were real, and their civilization thrived during the time of the ancient Greeks.

(Similar situation with elves.)

Robur arrives a little disheveled from removing mushrooms and has a look and gasps!
"The head might be in the the pit I looked in," says Robur taking a quick mouthful of mead to quench his thirst. "Should I haul it out Madam Dame, and try to bring it here? If this is another dwarf turned to stone... is there a way to change her back? And the other statues?"

"Of course! There is nothing else for it, we must retrieve the head!" Dame Simonetta replies to Robur. She immediately heads back to the pit and (since he so graciously volunteered) lower Robur back down.

She wants to wait until we have the head back before she tries placing the medallion on the statue.

Robur asks for a a sack to put the head in from a fellow adventurer. He will then try tying the rope to the sack and have the gang 'heave ho' to pull it out of the pit. Once out of the pit the idea will be to carry the sack or if too heavy drag it to the headless statue...

Dame Simonetta will provide Robur one of her sacks, and help haul the head back up. Furthermore, she finds the idea of dragging the head rather disrespectful and will help carry it if necessary.

The plan works! Robur places the head in the sack, and then the others are able to haul it up to the surface and carefully carry it (no dragging!) back to the statue. The hobbets form a chain and pass the head up to Dame Simonetta who places it carefully atop the statue's neck. Nobody else can hear it, but her owl medallion is humming like crazy during this procedure.

As soon she has restored the head to its rightful place, Dame Simonetta feels it 'stick' like she can let go and it won't fall off. Looking carefully at where it broke, she can see that the stone is starting to 'knit' back together, like the statue is 'healing.' It's a slow process and won't happen overnight, but if she came back in a few weeks or months, Dame Simonetta would notice the statue is in much better condition than she left it.

And now what about the owl medallion?

(1d6=4, there are no wandering monsters this turn.)

"By junipers, Mrs. Dame!" says Robur. "The head it's reattaching! Maybe we can save this poor person! Dame what are you going to do with that magic medallion? If you put it on now the poor person might come back to life deeply wounded.... but if we wait.... Whatever in the Shire should we do?"

"I shall place the medallion and hope for the best." Dame Simonetta replies to Robur.

She carefully places the owl medallion in the indentation on the statue's chest.
