Dougal at this point is staring down at the hobbet in the pit, holding what appears to be the head of a statue.
"Didn't we pass a statue with no head a while back?"

Robur clears the muck to reveal the face of a strong, beautiful dwarven warrior. Her expression is peaceful, serene and wise (not horrified at all). Her face is framed by a Greek-style helmet. It looks like she once had an intricately-braided beard, but it got broken off, and now it's just a beard-stump. The head is rather damaged, but Robur can imagine that when it was new, this would have been a museum-quality, life-like sculpture.
(Wandering monster check 1d6=4. There are no wandering monsters this turn.)

"Oy!" calls up Robur from the pit. "It looks like a real statue, not a dwarf turned to stone. Do you mind if I get out, or do you insist I keep digging?"
Curious Robur digs a little more until he hears an answer.

Dame Simonetta is curious about this dwarven statue head, but is uncertain about the practical implications of retrieving it.
"Well, if there's nothing else down there you may as well come up," she says to Robur.

Robur does a quick walk around the pit to make sure nothing else interesting was sticking up from the ground, and if there is nothing, climbs back up the rope.

Nothing else of interest is found in the hold. Robur is back up the rope with the party. Where to next?

Dame Simonetta advocates returning to area #2 to see if our exit is still clear.

The coast is clear through area #2 back to dungeon level 1. The giant sloth is gone.
