Josiane follows Olaf's lead, sheathing her sword and looking for a suitable implement with which to engage this seeping horror.

He sighs. "Let's hope this is temporary..."
"
Ah...", sighs
Gustave, lowering his arm and blinking the remaining sparks from his eyes, "
a sorry irony indeed my friend; four eyes and no vision!"
He guides the blinded halflings together, "
Take solace together, my pint-sized companions. I will aid our man Armando and come for you when we are done - should your maladay persist."
With that he joins
Armando in his endevour, keeping a wary eye out for unexpected guests.

The Reliquary
Just to be clear... Armando was (fortunately) waiting for others to enter. The "others", in this case, comprised Desmond/Mondes and Rufus, who got zapped upon attempting to enter, and are presently bumping into one another just inside the doorway. Armando and Gustave haven't had a chance to bypass the hobbits, and thus haven't yet entered the room. Do we now suppose that Gustave enters the room to grab his blinded fellows?

The Infirmary
Those recently arrived from downstairs find there isn't a lot of space available in the outer infirmary because the ooze is taking up half the available space, and Dorgan is heaving the massive, stone, examination bench over which topples with an almighty thud, and squishes the edge of the ooze in doing so. Meanwhile Olaf grabs the chair and Josiane whips a drawer out of the shelving, scattering its contents, in an attempt to find anything wooden with which to bludgeon the thing, which is already beginning to seep around the fallen "island" bench. There seems no end to it!
| There is hardly any unoccupied space left in the room, and others are still trying to get in from the inner infirmary... you'll probably be getting wet next round! |

Seeing no place to go and little he can offer to fight the strange creature, Ulric falls back down the stairs so that he is out of the way.
"Let's see if we can draw it down the stairs where we have some room to fight this thing," Ulric says as he goes.
"We have a situation up here," Ulric then shouts to those below.

Wen is moving towards the stairs where he left his staff. "If we can't destroy we could lead it into the trap if you have to to!"

"Agreed," says
Josiane crisply; "Fall back and pitch the thing into the pit below. That should at least buy us time to evade it."
She too falls back towards the stairs, urging the others to do the same.

[OOC: variant? Gustave takes the lead, but will proceed as previously if all is well]
Seeing the dazzled halflings, and still blinking stars from his eyes himself,
Gustave hesitates on the threshold. Then, shielding his eyes lest the trap spring again, he goes to their aid, warning
Armando first of his ploy.

Momentarily stunned by the flash, Armando peeks from behind his cloak at Gustave as the dapper hero enters the room to help the halflings. Armando remains at the threshold, looking about for anything that might be the source of the blinding light ...
