"Stay close, Thick Man, I will support you from the 2nd rank with my spear," speaks Highbough. He carefully sets his lantern down on the floor where it will continue to illuminate the ongoing zombie-fest.

Guntrum squares up in the center of the corridor facing toward the entrance chamber, doing his best to fill the space. He'd dearly love to pass his torch to someone else so he could make use of his shield, but doesn't dare drop the torch for fear of it going out or not having light. Indeed, against these undead, a torch may prove a better weapon than a sword.

Pelenwin nods to Wibert and bows his armed head. "Day stream forth as a beacon to the deep places of the world. Round the bricks and stone let the rays of warm, clean light surge, covering us with your divine protection."

Pelenwin tips up his head. "I hate to say it, but you all are rubbing off on me; let's grab the gold."

Wibert agrees, "Well, we need food in order to live and this gold can go a long way in aiding that!"

Dieter presses on, getting back to the rest of the party and the rest of the battle.

Nor does Olaf!

He called for the two who had continued deeper into the dungeon to come back and then followed Dieter back toward the rest of the party.
Dieter presses on, getting back to the rest of the party and the rest of the battle.
Olaf is right behind Dieter hustling back to "save the rest of the party"...while they attempt to get to us in order to "save us."

The First Vault
(Dieter, Olaf, Desmond/Mondes, Ulric)

The company hustle down the passage with the blue/white glare of Ulric's scepter lighting their way, and soon burst into the first vault; but it is changed utterly!

Where there was floor, now there is none. Instead a narrow stone stair descends immediately into a great dark pit. Opposite, another narrow stair rises up to the doorway which leads back to the ante, and the exit. Upon this stair burns a guttering, orange oil-fire, and above that are a gaggle of some half dozen of the awkward, walking corpses engaged in hot melee with Gustave and Dorgan at the top of the stair. Their is yellow light in the passage beyond them, too.
