Franlin is feeling brave enough, he will approach the sunken room (but not descend the stairs) and cautiously sniff the air for unusual odors.

Nothing unusual

Wiglaff looks for hole in the walls that could flood this sunken area with gas or liquid.

Assuming it seems safe, should we continue west? or try the other door from the tile floor room?

(( P.S. I haven't been updating my map-and-key on the forum, but the maps I post there are exports of the "live" map that kipper posted above. ))

I kinda wanna cross the sunken room to see what's behind that remaining unexplored door just to the north of it.

Maloof carefully inspects the floor of the sunken room for traps, before attempting to cross.

Franklin is standing by ready to assist if Maloof gets in any trouble.

After taking precautions, Maloof descends the stairs, then warily ascends the opposite stairs. Hearing some noise, he peaks north around the corner and sees 5 ghouls loping down the corridor, currently about 60 feet away. He is unsure if they are aware of him or not

Maloof quickly dodges back out of sight, quietly retreats back, and reports his sighting.

"I will try to turn them away, but you may want to ready your bows in case some of them are unaffected," Aldbane says. He moves in front of the group, waits for the ghouls to appear from around the corner and presents his holy symbol.

I am envisioning that the party is at the top of the east stairs, and Aldbane will attempt to turn undead as the ghoul appear at the top of the west stairs? If so, I would let two people stand beside Aldbane to protect him in case of failure. Who would those two people be?

Or are you down in the sunken room, spread out?
