OOC: ehiker133, I thought having a bit of friction amongst party members might give a good storytelling angle. Nothing personal of course!
"I'm really sorry..." Robur tries to call out sincerely as
Dougal leaves.
"I've just been through so much today."
"Damn it!" exclaims
Robur now all alone and sad.
OOC: Anything of interest in the room before Robur leaves?

The rest turn does everyone a world of good!
Robur attributes his ill-temper to severe dehydration. Now that he's awake from his cocoon, he feels a powerful hunger and thirst! He opens his pack and begins to feast, recovering his strength (and, hopefully, manners).
Dougal realizes that the chess pieces store away for travel inside the board. The travel board opens up on metal hinges and has neat velvet-lined compartments, one for each piece. Dougal appraises the chess set at 1,200gp value to an antiquarian or collector of the occult.
Willie and Beppo are keeping watch. All is quiet!
All told the excitement lasted about an hour. Let's call this rest turn lucky Turn 7. What is the party's plan for Turn 8? Robur should be full-strength and ready to move out, after he eats and drinks.

OOC: With the fellowship nine strong our Heroes should be able to take on greater challenges than ever before! Which Level of the Dungeon is calling to you?

We do have many hobbits, but half of us are still level 1. So I think heading to level 3 would not be a good idea yet, a bad roll or two there could mean their deaths. I think we should continue exploring Level 2, the only unexplored Level 2 area that I'm aware of is to return to the beach and head west instead of east.
It's not too far out of our way to return to area 32 (Level 1) and finish exploring that area as well.

"Let's give ourselves an easy task after that close call -- let's pick up where we left off!"
Willie suggests to go to area 10, and from there to 32. But at area 10 let's have a listen in the side passages -- it'd be good to know what the level of rat activity currently is.

Beppo was surprised to discover he had not snuck off, but was keeping watch the whole time. It must have happened in his head!

It's not really a separate cave. More of a nook.

Robur introduces himself briefly, and sincerely thanks everyone and offers a deep apology to Dougal for losing his head. He briefly explains something about suffering a fall after his companions perished from a fatal misadventure. He doesn't want to explain more, but he asks if he could come along somewhere safe to begin with, and wonders if anyone happened to have a bottle of mead with them?

OOC: Your DM likes the idea to start by listening to the rats at #10. With three druids in the party, a colony of ordinary rats ought to be a solvable puzzle.
