Dieter, having rested, speaks up.

"Is no one going to unchain that elf?"

Ulric examines the chains holding the ancient elf to see if he can be easily freed.

Thank you, gentle Man. I am Highbough, known as the Cypher. I have spent two weeks in misery, manacled to the wall of this grisly chamber.

In that time, I have heard the Ogres name themselves as Wolfgung, Griswold, Igor, Deggerhund and Etta. I have only ever seen four of them however. (Perhaps the fifth is quartered down yonder hallway, or maybe not even an Ogre at all?)

Then just minutes ago the strangest thing happened.

All three Ogres present pulled up arms, took with them their three "pet" wolves, and headed out into the passages. The sounds of battle ensued. Then Deggerhund came hastily back into the room with a fresh corpse over his shoulder, smashed open one of the crates and grabbed another hefy sack, and departed in haste via one of the back tunnels.

If you have slain two of the Ogres, then you are mighty warriors indeed! An enemy of their kind is an ally of mine. Free me from these chains and I shall join your cause.

"I agree with Gustave that we can't rest in safety, until that last orge is removed. We need to organise ourselves well so no more die this day", says Padrig.

Padrig also goes over to help free the chained elf.

"Your aid will be most welcome brother. I am sorry we didn't find you sooner Highbough the Cypher. I am known as PADRIG WYNNE "the Protector" and it feels good to aid a fellow elf this day, but also sad that we lost many in battle this day", speaks Padrig.

"Do you know of any others still alive down here?", asks Padrig.

Before Pelenwin can cause untoward harm with his mace, Ulric and Padrig quickly examine The Cypher's bonds. The manacles turn out to be the simple mechanical type -- and half a dozen turns of a petulant and rusty wingnut by each of the captive's wrists widens the gaps sufficiently for the old Elf to pull his chaffed and sore hands free at last!

Treebough is freed.

Amazingly, Treebough has 4 of 4 hit-points.

If nobody claims the silver and copper coins that lie abandoned on that room,Andaros will take them.

The long-haired southerner looks at the remaining chest, and says to Gustave:

"Oi, pretty boy, wanna help me put that chest sideways and crush it from the bottom?"

"I would appreciate if someone borrowed me an axe to make the task easier, too, ."

Andaros starts collecting the loose coins from the bottom of the broken-open chest, and soon finds that there are a lot more than just a few. By the time he has them all out of the heavy, broken chest he sees that there are enough to almost fill a sack...
