Franklin instructs Balbo and Drogo: "Train your slings on the blob and fire at will! I'll protect you from the gargoyles."

Franklin swings his magic sword at the first gargoyle who swoops down into reach.

Nailus will cast a MM at one of the gargoyles (not with the light in his eyes)

Aldbane curses his lack of a magic weapon, and as Maloof did, turns to cast light in the eyes of a different gargoyle. Then he'll hang back and keep the oil fire going so Balbo and Drogo can keep attacking it with their slings (he has 5 flasks of oil).

| The DM is not sure if Gargoyles actually "see" the way living beings do, but we'll let the dice decide. Also, a reminder to Nailus that he has a Wand of Fire (fireball) and a Wand of Ice (cone of cold) if he needs to pull out the big guns, and he wields a Battle Axe +1 if he needs to melee the gargoyles |

Aldbane and Maloof attempt to blind two of the gargoyles, while Nailus, Rhod and Frederick gang up on the third. Balbo and Drogo will attempt to keep the blob at bay.

The party's plan is a wild success. Nailus and Aldbane blind two of the gargoyles, while the other three team up to shatter the third one. It's last wild clawing at Franklin comes nowhere near harming him. Balbo and Drogo damage the blob, and it decides with fire in front of it, and pain coming from that direction, to retreat

Does the party want to escape out the other door of the gargoyle room while they are blinded, or stay to try to destroy them?
INITIATIVE Party 2 Gargoyles 2 simultaneous
Gargoyle save vs Albane's Light spell, rolls 13 blinded
Gargoyle save vs Maloof's Light spell, rolls 4 blinded

Nailus Magic Missile does 5 damage
Franklin rolls 20 and hits for 6 damage
Rhod rolls 20 and hits for 6 damage, killing it
Gargoyle attacks Franklin and rolls a 3, miss
Balbo and Drogo roll 9 and 15, doing 10 more damage to the blob

(Unless anyone feels strongly we need to flee?) Franklin votes to stay and finish off the gargoyles.

Maloof doesn't have a magic weapon so he will be steering well clear of the combat! Therefore, he's fine with it if the others want to finish off the gargoyles before we leave.

Maloof moves away from the combat and towards the door in the west wall. Here he stops and listens at the door. (He won't open it while combat is still underway however!)

Nailus is a lvl 1 MU I think, so he probably only has one MM. He does have a magic weapon though

That's fine. If it comes to Nailus in combat, he will use his Battle Axe +1, but he would prefer not to.

I'm just pointing out that there are two gargoyles, and they can only be hit by magic weapons, and only Rhod, Franklin and Nailus have magic weapons. So right now it is looking like a 2 on 2

Franklin first and foremost wouldn't want his friends in any danger! He keeps the gargoyles at bay with his magic sword while the plan is being discussed.

Balbo and Drogo are keeping an eye out for the return of the blob.
