Make them re-consider a decision to attack. Also, a small parlay gives our 2nd group a chance to flank the knaves.
(Mads wouldn't have bothered if not for the missile fire risk--the party's going to take some damage before they close ranks.)

All this fighting is great, and all, but while we're getting hacked up, those bandits have probably stolen our horse and cart, all our gear, food, and our hard won treasure, too!
