I'm on vacation for a couple more days. I'll try to sort through old posts later this week and figure out The Herald's HP.

The Herald is at full health, having taken only minor hits which were properly tended to afterward.

Hmm, because the marching ordered didn't reflect recent posts in the "gnome thread", I've taken the liberty of putting Fried and Akbar up front, and putting Karl and Dopey at the rear. Other than that, I've left it exactly as it was

I tried going back through the thread to see how many hits Karl has taken, but I kept getting caught up in the story!
If you want to re-roll his hit points, I'll take that. (But I know he was down 1, at least.)

We rested twice, once Karl caught up to Zax and The Herald, so I suspect Karl is at full health as well.

Oh, sorry! I was just adding the new person to the list.

Hey team, I haven't got a copy of chainmail handy.
From memory, there is a rule which discusses men armed with hand-axes throwing these as enemy charge into combat, and there is another section called something like "pass thru missile fire" which discusses moving thru an arc of fire. Can someone who has a copy please quote me the relevant section (or sections)?
Thanks guys

I would help but I'm embarrassed to admit I do not own a copy of Chainmail.

Pass-through Fire: Stationary missile troops may elect to give pass-through fire to any enemy units which are within their missile range at the half-move portion of the turn. This would include any enemy troops split-moving, passing by, or charging the missile troops.
Arc of Fire:
Footmen - 45° left or right
Horsemen - 180° left, 45° right
...
Throwing Axes and Spears: These missile weapons are treated as any other missile weapons except: They may fire only once per turn, they may always fire at enemy troops charging them, and they may not fire indirectly.
