Maloof meanwhile turns his attention to the gargoyles, he's not sure if they are alive or not. "May we pass?", he asks to aid in making a determination.

"Fly, you fools!" Franklin yells at Balbo and Drogo to skedaddle through the door. Franklin draws his magic sword while his henchmen each retrieve a flask of oil from their packs. They wait and hold this action to see whether the blob survives Aldbane's oil and eats through the door.

The party all runs into the 10' corridor between the two rooms. The blob starts to move towards the party. Aldbane throws the oil, and a torch is grabbed and thrown on the oil. As it flares up, the blob stops, unwilling to go through the flame

Maloof begins to cross the room, keeping the wall on his right (away from the gargoyle pillars), heading for the door.

Franklin instructs Balbo and Drogo, "It's afraid of the fire! Fall back and make some distance, then ready your slings."
The three halflings cross the room with Maloof.

As Franklin enters the room behind Maloof, the sword and anvil disappear, and the three gargoyles come to life. Their intentions do not look peaceful

Maloof gives a rising whistle as he spins on his heel, and ends with a finger snap. (Casting Light into the eyes of one of the gargoyles.)
Well, now I've done it, as if the blob wasn't enough! I don't think we have enough time for the entire party to cross the room, plus we could just make things even worse by opening the next door anyway.
