What does Dame S. do about her lantern on a rope?

"There is not much point staying here anymore," she says to Bilfur acerbically, "let's go meet up with the others. I hope Dougal and Kiplyn are OK," another pointed glare.

Dame Simonetta will raise up the lantern and head off towards the secret door.

Willie calls out to his comrades. "More rope, please!"

He'll take another 50ft length & tie the two together with a double fisherman's knot. If they have 2 extra ropes, he'll use all 3! Then lower the increased length down ASAP.

Kiplyn is hanging on for his life and doesn't have a chance to look down. He tries to find some foot holds as best he can.

"I have 20 feet of rope, if it will help!" Beppo said, as he fished the length out of his pack.

"Unfortunately I have no rope," Noh says somewhat surprised.

bilfur follows Dame, with a glint in his eye that his new friends are ok. He does so massage the snake headed staff with a sleight smile.

Dougal pulls Kiplyn to 'safety.' Now all three of the Hobbets have firm handholds on the stone wall of the Chasm.

Kiplyn doesn't look down. Dougal does look, but he doesn't see anything unexpected (rolls 1d6=2, under his current MYTH of 3). He sees the flaming scraps of the web fall several hundred feet, into the water below.

Robur has a much better view, due to his photosensitive, cave-adapted vision. (He rolls 1d6=5 and his MYTH increases 1 point from 0 to 1. Welcome to the club! Please check your PM to see what Robur saw.)

Willie's double-rope is now dangling within easy reach, and the fire has gone out. Will Dougal, Kiplyn, and Robur climb part-way up, to the furnished alcove, or all the way up, to the ledge?

Dame Simonetta and Bilfur are in transit, through the secret doors.

Kiplyn would climb all the way up.

Dougal only climbs up to the room. There's got to be more to this room than meets the eye.

He re-checks the chest, but this time looking for a false bottom or a hidden compartment. He also examines the chess set to see if there is any significance to the way the pieces are laid out.
