Dorgan traveled to see the Elves, ran into some Men, got by them and got the poison antivenom he needed, and then returned to the Abbey?
It's been so long, I forget where he is and who's with him.
I believe he took the pilgrims with him, but left them with the men when he returned to the abbey, recovered from the poison. The bigger question (or smaller question?) is where is Desmond?? And Mondes! You can't forget Mondes!
Welcome back, Sully!
I hadn't received notifications for some time but now I am. I think unsubscribing and then subscribing again helped. Mike also did something where he set the Sender address to be different to reduce the chances of it being set as spam.

I know where Olaf is, but I don't know if he'll ever get back to where he was.
Oh, and I got a notification today, so I'd say they're working for me...now.

With regards to forum notifications:
Yesterday I clicked the "Subscribe topic" link that appears in the top-right of screen while reading posts within a Hinterlands "thread". I clicked it for this very topic (i.e., the "Out Of Character" thread).
Overnight I received an email from the board alerting me that sully had made a post to the OOC topic. I did not receive any further emails for ehiker's or eris' subsequent posts to the same topic.
For this I conclude that the "Subscribe topic" feature is working for me for this topic, but that it will send one and only one email regardless how many updates are made. I guess this "cleverness" is to prevent the forum sending a flood of mail.
I have not tried the "subscribe forum" feature which appears in the top-right of screen on the forum's top level front page. So I don't know if that works differently, or how it may interact with the "subscribe topic" feature.

This is pretty much correct.
See my post in game...

The way it works is that an email will be sent to you when there is a new post on the thread if you are subscribed.
You will not receive another notification for that thread until you visit the thread and reset the notification (just opening the thread resets the notification; you don't have to unsubscribe and subscribe again).

I would assume this would work the same way, except you would get notification the first time someone posts anywhere on the forum. And then you wouldn't get any further notifications until you visited the forum.

Email notifications are working for me now. I went to my User Control Panel, deleted all of them, and resubscribed.

Hmm, went to the DD rules to see how close Dorgan was to 6th level and noticed that ogres only do half damage to dwarfs. Perhaps a return to that ogre cave down the road is in the cards after all? Maybe that puddle of oil we poured at the entrance is still there?

Great news

Thanks largely to Mike's behind the scenes work, I suspect. Thanks Mike

Yes, this is the official by the book rule, but I've never really been an advocate.
In CM it was originally about half
kills. If it weren't for a one-liner in M&T p16 (which says "one-half the usual hit points when a hit is scored"), one would probably assume the general translation whereby CM
kills translate to D&D
hits. In that case the dwarf rule would translate to half
hits (rather than half
damage) in D&D-land. It's interesting to observe that AD&D also states less frequent
hits via a -4 to hit adjustment.
My minimal house rule is that dwarfs have a half-chance to evade a killing-blow from giant-sized enemy. I.e., they take normal hits and damage, but are only half as likely to be
killed. This is generally less intrusive (cos it only applies to kills, rather than every hit) and--IMHO--feels more like CM's original combat mechanic.
FWIW--Because Dorgan is an Armiger (5th level fighter) he will enjoy the V5 Hero's benefit of ignoring up to three normal hits in a combat. But remember that because Ogres are fantastic opponents they don't do normal hits; they do heroic/fantastic hits instead.
