Re: Out Of Character

Ehiker can you please update the wilderness marching order, and also provide a wilderness watch roster for me? Thanking you muchly...

(You could, if desired, have rosters alternating on odd and even turn numbers...)

Re: Out Of Character

Could everyone who recently acquired equipment from the deceased try to note the original owner of any significant items on their PC sheet?

I.e., if somebody happened to acquire Menno's dagger, it would ideally be referred to as "Menno's Dagger" rather than just "a dagger". If someone has took a hobgoblin helmet, then it's a "Hobgoblin Helm" rather than just "a helmet". I hope this will add a touch of "flavor" to all our posts (i.e., consider the epic journey of Mads' Cold Iron Axe!), and will also remind us occassionally of departed PCs...

Let's see how it works out :)

Re: Out Of Character

Seriously, Mads' axe has been in many hands and gone all over the Hinterlands...

What would you call the mail armour from one of the fighters with Thickneck? Did they have a title?

Re: Out Of Character

They were mentioned variously as: Fighters, the right- (and left-) hand-men, and Hinterlands Regulators. Perhaps "Regulator's mail" would be most evocative... or you could ask Thick-Neck for their names?

V5 isn't public yet, but I'll leak the relevant player bits here and for the rest you'll just have to trust me. The differences between V4 (the current rules) and V5 are mostly minor anyway, but there are a few mechanical changes which will possibly make combat more decisive and help to keep a PBP game moving along.

Most of the existing house rules will still apply, but I do want to change up the player classes so there'll be: fighters, M-Us, clerics, plus a couple of new optional-types I want to test play: the rat-catcher (an alternate thiefy-type) and the ranger (self explanatory I hope). I'd really like M-Us to have a go at inventing their own spells, but we'll see how that goes.
Do you have any idea on whenabouts V5 will be out?

I moved my reply up to a more general discussion here.

This is a super-cool idea! And I did just happen to acquire Menno's dagger. :-)

Re: Out Of Character

Will characters heal one point per two days on the road, or must they return to civilization to recover?

Re: Out Of Character

I am somewhat liberal about healing.

I have, to date, ignored the by-the-book 1 hp per two day rule, so there was no healing on the road. I will consider it for future occasions.

However, I do give everyone minimum one HD heals after any combat, and I also presume (unless specific circumstances dictate otherwise) full hp get re-rolled after at least one turn of town-time. So, now that all players are in the camp, I expect to re-roll everyone's hp immediately upon setting off for the next adventure.
