In case you still can't read Karl's sheet, he has a charisma of 8. (It's one of the reasons he's content with rear guard...)

So are we going to chat with these scoundrels or fight?
If we fight, we have two strategies: take out the leader and hope the rest rout, or focus on the weaker ones and hope the leaders lose heart.
I think we should talk just long enough to get our toughest fighters up front and then attack.
And if we can reach the weaker enemies, we should try to take them out but we may be stuck fighting the bosses first.

If they are spotted, or if they hail the stronghold directly, the resident will respond to their presence.
A chaotic strongholder will always attempt to slay, capture, enslave, or deceive the players to gain whatever treasure or knowledge they might have or hold out against them if they are overly powerful.
Holy crap! Lets hope they're neutrals!
