Immersive Ink

Garamon raises his shield above his head, gripping his spear, and looks down to step off any roots he might be standing on. Then he quickly looks for the origins of the voice.
My apologies, I was just looking for a friend, he'll say, hopefully toward whatever (leafy?) face he can identify.

Goldwen startles at the voice, but quickly composes herself, "Oh! We... uhhh... we apologize for any discomfort we may have caused!"

She glances around at the rest of the party and hisses with a shooing motion at anyone who looks like they might be standing on a... on a root.

"Blasted Hobbet can't keep out of trouble for 5 minutes" mutters Flin under his breath before waddling over to the commotion at the gate, careful to avoid the roots of the creature.

Not moving, assuming he’s off all roots, Garamon speaks directly to the tree, whether he sees a face or not, as the others gather, “thank you, but why must we hurry? Is our friend in danger?”

Thanis walks over to see what everyone else is looking at.

Is that tree... talking to us?

Stern walks around the tree, doubtful of talking trees. Suspecting a prank by the hobblet he scans the area for his prankster companion. "Tass, we don't have time for your child-like shenanigans" he bellows.

As Stern rounds the corner, Tass looks up from where he is crotched down hiding and bursts out laughing.........Hahahahaha, HUURRRRRYYYYYYY, hahaha, I thought it was going to work.
