While the Sisters prepare the great hall and Olaf for the night's ritual, Ulric and Desmond head upstairs and investigate Pelenwin's former room.
The place is cool and stark, containing only a rude pallet for a bed, and an old straw mattress -- which, frankly, doesn't smell too good. However, it doesn't take Desmond too long to find the only possession which Pelenwin deemed too valuable to take with him dungeoneering...
Under the old mattress is a waxed satchel which contains a glorious tome. It is The Innocent Opus, being merely an abridged part of Seyal's Testament. It is a white leather bound tome of portents and libations is intended for the travelling faithful while away from the Temple. Its prayers and contemplations appear to Ulric to be penned in the Historic script, though he can make little sense of its meaning a first glance.
