The garden is not entirely "overgrown", but perhaps just somewhat "untidy". There is a nice gravel path which meanders a circuit around the grounds, which contain a dozen or so mature, leafy trees. The whole of the property is surrounded by an 8 or 9 foot stone wall, which has been neatly rendered with plaster. In all it is far too tame for Highbough'strue taste, but compared to the library it is positively serene.mushgnome wrote: Highbough is delighted to take a stroll in the fresh air after many days in the dark library. The chaos of an overgrown garden is more beautiful to him than a neatly manicured lawn. In particular he is looking for any weeds with known medicinal properties, so that he may instruct the gardener to cultivate them.
Where indeed?danhem wrote:"Where are these servants that came with the house?" he asks the empty air.
Ulric locates a trunk that will fit his purpose in what was once presumably the servants' quarters (room 12). It has a latch which will fit a padlock, but no lock. He will need to purchase one of these...danhem wrote: OOC: Ulric will want to purchase a locking chest in which to store his unknown mysteries. Unless such an item is already in his room; or one is in the house that he can commandeer.
(erm... Room #8 is the Loo, Mush)mushgnome wrote:His walk complete, Highbough will settle in to one of the nicer private rooms. Maybe Room 8, overlooking the trees and near the library.
"That thought had occurred to me, as well, Ulric." Desmond grabs Mads' Cold Iron Axe and continues, "Should we check?"danhem wrote:
