(Slaying a knave will clear the way for Nighogg to reach the stair, the ledge and the door.)

Not a moment after the ambush is sprung, Nidhogg bellows his warning to the besieged company and as the two nearby knaves turn in frustration upon him, he buries his quick, light pick into the nearest (1d20=14) gouging its hard point ruthlessly into the hapless fellow's nape for (2dd=4,4) for 9 hit points, slaying him instantly.

"You traiter'us runt!" spits the other knave, dropping his bow and already reaching for the long, curved dagger at his belt...

(That was the surprise round... what will Nidhogg do in the upcoming round?)

Ulric cries out as the arrow lodges itself in his shoulder.

If he is in range and has a clear line of sight, Ulric will unleash the Anthracite Sufferance at either Deggerhund or the nearest group of archers as he begins to retreat back toward the door (OOC: I'm not completely clear on the layout of the situation).

Olaf says, "Haul these chests back inside and out of the way before anything else. Otherwise we'll just be tripping over it on the stairs."

He attempts to do just that...haul the chest he is helping carry back inside the door. Once he's done that we'll return to the fight with his bow and arrows as he will be too far from the attackers to get to them with sword and shield quickly.

Spear range, yes. Dagger range, maybe. Throwing either is an attack and thus will spoil his invisibility.

Understood. Highbough longs to pierce Deggerhund's heart with his trusty spear, but holds fire for fear of hitting Pelenwin.
