Beppo, recognizing the urgency in Willie's voice, rushed after him at the same pace.

((This is day 4 of Darren being too busy to check messageboards))

The DM rules that, if Dame Simonetta doesn't attack the black pudding, then neither does Bilfur.

Dame Simonetta stands there for a few minutes, watching the thing devour the corpse of the Spider-Goat. She is mesmerized by its undulations and hypnotized by its faint rainbow sheen (like an oil slick).

Dame Simonetta fails her Mythos check (1d6=4) and her Mythos increases 1 point, from 2 to 3. She experiences a deep, existential dread as she has this realization: All of her adventures to date have taken place in the upper layer of the earth's crust, in a starter, baby, training-wheels dungeon. But below that is a whole other layer of deep caverns, beyond anything she can imagine. At the Earth's core, there are creatures so monstrous that spider-goats are like fleas to them. Dame Simonetta feels that all of her life's accomplishments are insignificant, and she is but a speck of dust compared to the vast secrets of the Deep.

The black pudding finishes its meal, then drips and quivers its way back into the darkness below. The encounter is over.

Willie speaks the pass-phrase "NO SPOILERS for new members of the Club," and the secret door swings open.

1d6=5, no wandering monster encounter for Group C.

Willie, Wilbur, Beppo, Noh, and Carc find themselves at area 6 on the map. They are out of lantern/torch range and can't see Kiplyn or Dougal from here.

Kiplyn turns his head... "Something is wrong, I just heard Dame, there must be something down here we better get out of here.". He quickly checks if there is another way out.
Kiplyn was checking the further reaches of the room for exits

Here's what Kip sees: The lair is roughly 20' diameter with a domed ceiling. Dougal (with the lantern) is searching the chest along the south wall. There's a wardrobe in the west and the harp in the north. And of course in the center of the room is the table, 5 chairs, and tuffet. The table is set for tea, and there's a chess game in progress.

The only visible exit is east, back into the web.

Dame Simonetta is relieved that the black stain has chosen to return whence it came, but is not yet feeling confident enough to give Dougal and Kiplyn the all clear to return!

Kiplyn and Dougal see something moving in the web! It's one of the cocoons, a webbed up victim, perhaps the Spider-Goat's next meal, if our Heroes hadn't arrived in time.

Robur Boulderhill, you've been here before. You know the Rules. Your Adventure begins NOW!

Robur Boulderhill cries out in a weak voice, "Help! What happened to me? Where am I?", and coughs. He closes his eyes tightly in the bright torchlight. "Oh, my poor bottles of mead!" he whimpers.
