Dorgan winces and gingerly shakes his arm a bit. He turns back toward the group.

"Any of ya wanna take a shot at it?" He flips his thumb over his shoulder, pointing back at the door. "Or should I get on wit choppin' it down?"

The dwarf snorts and strokes his beard for a second or two.

"Mebbe this is a sign that we oughta get outta here now."

Josiane considers. "I am uncomfortable to leave this place until I know precisely what evil has been occurring here," she says, "but it may be that to forge ahead in this direction is to invite ambush. What say we return to the chamber above and enter the tunnels beneath the mezzanine from there? I have a fancy they may well connect to here."

"Although, of course, that will require us facing the dog once more..."

"We're better off killin' that dog now anyway. If'n more of the Gobbos show up, we don't wanna have him blockin' the exit."

Dorgan begins to walk back to the other door.

"'Sides, the four of us oughta be able ta take one lil puppy down, right?"

Dorgan smiles evilly at his own "lil" joke.

Josiane looks distinctly troubled, struggling and failing to raise a smile at Dorgan's black humour. For all its savagery she considers this poor, brutalised animal a victim in this horrible business, but she has a strong feeling in her heart that other innocent lives may be at stake.

"If it must be," she says quietly, "but only if it must."

"Sorry for upsettin' ya, Miss, but two-headed dogs ain't natural."

Dorgan looks a bit chastised but he continues over to the door. He looks back at Mads and Percy to make sure they're ready for battle before he moves the table out of the way.

"There is little here that I consider natural," says Josiane quietly; "And by Thuul I will see those responsible answer for it."

She seems both upset and angry. Let those who have wrought this wickedness beware..!

"Back trackin' then," agrees Mads.

Percy nods, as he loads his crossbow, then stands across from the door, levelling the weapon in readiness.

"Open the door and let the beast come," he says with an air of quiet confidence, "for I have a debit to repay..."

Indeed, it appears as though he could hardly miss if the dog comes rushing through the door...

As before, Josiane stands to one side of the door to give Percy a clear field of fire, sword and shield at the ready.

Dorgan will push the table with his shoulder, allowing him to keep a tight grasp on his weapons.

He will push the table in the direction that allows him to be behind the door, should the dog burst in as soon as the door is open.
