The West Chamber
(Torban, Rufus, Gustave, Ulric, Guntram and Armando)
Gustave, Ulric, and Armando follow the 12ft tall Giant Guntram through the breach in the wall, and out into the blackened courtyard... please go to thread 49 (the Blasted Abbey).
Meanwhile, Rufus and Torban hold back a moment more, pending the reappearance of the recently frightened off wolf pack.

(Josiane, Desmond/Mondes, Dorgan, Dieter and Wen)
{No morale check required, initiative is rolled 1d6; Dieter=1+1, Desmond/Mondes=4+1, Wolfmen=5. Wolfmen attack 1d20=6,11,16,18, Desmond/Mondes is hit once for 1d6=2 damage. Desmond/Mondes attacks simultaneously 1d20=17,20, but his blows are blunted. Dieter attacks 1d20=13,9 hits once for 1d6=6.}
Dorgan thankfully takes a swing from his hip flask and feels the hot spirit refreshing him {1d6=5} to the tune of 5 hit points.
Meanwhile Desmond/Mondes and Dieter continue the fighting against the fearless wolfmen. Desmond/Mondes strikes cunning and deadly blows, but alas his blade does them no hurt! In return he suffers hits worth 2 points. Dieter continues to hack and parry, and avoids further injury himself while delivering a resounding 5 hit points to this new foe.
Josiane, in the second rank, sheathes her sword and takes up Mads' Cold Iron Axe from Dorgan. There's no reason a templar shouldn't employ a battle-axe; 'tis a noble enough weapon designed for a righteous contest of arms.
Wen, meanwhile, fishes a torch out of his pack and sets about firing it...
{Dorgan has 9/19 hit points. Dieter has 7/18 hit points. Desmond/Mondes has 13/15 hit points.}
There is so much suck here...

Wen will hand a flaming torch to whoever wants it. -- (He had one already lit from when we started to explore the Burned out Library, so getting the second one lit should be easy enough.)
Wen would not however fail to keep an eye or two on the other passage where the wolves retreated. (Lots to remember but no real movement involved.)

Torben will wait with Rufus for but a moment, and then make a cautious retreat and rejoin the group in the Blasted Abbey.

Assuming the hobbit(s) do as asked, Josiane steps forward into the front rank and brings Mads' cold iron axe swinging back into the fray, concentrating her blows on the already injured werewolf if she can. No prisoners here - these creatures are defilers and abominations and she is fighting to kill.

Having taken a swig of the good stuff, Dorgan will stuff the hip flask in his belt for now.
Lacking any ability to affect the battle, the dwarf will at least make sure the Marrowstone is safely returned to his pack, which he puts back on his shoulders.
He'll finally pull out his other axe and keep a close eye on the party's rear, in case the wolves should return.

Desmond/Mondes screams a loud curse at the harry beasts in front of them as two highly well-placed blows seem to do no harm.
"You bastards! I'll defile yer corpses with fire when we're done!"
And... then he executes a fighting retreat to allow room for Josiane.

Rufus comments to Armando before he walks away, "I don't like the idea of a burning at the stake,... what has been happening here in this Abbey! Now lets see what my trusty axe can do with these wooden boards".
Rufus will use his hand axe to chop into the boarded up windows to take a look inside, hoping for an exit or any item that can aid them.
Rufus keeps an eye out.
OOC: Does Rufus find anything interesting?

Rufus does not want to be left behind.

{No need to check morale. Initiative is rolled 1d6; Dieter=1+1, Desmond/Mondes=6, Josiane=last, Wolfmen=6. Wolfmen attack 1d20=15,14,10,20, Desmond hit once for 1d6=4 damage. Josiane steps up, Dieter attacks 1d20=4,7}
Desmond/Mondes withdraws hastily, but not quite hastily enough -- the wolfmen put of a fierce offensive and gouge him for another 4 hit points while Dieter puts on a stoic defense. Though none of his counter attacks land, at least he makes way for Josiane to join him in the front rank.
Dorgan stashes his hip flask and readies another axe.
Wen hands his burning torch to the enraged two-headed halfling.

Dieter has 7/18 hit points.
Dorgan has 9/19 hit points.
Desmond/Mondes has 9/15 hit points.
Josiane has 12/12 hit points.

The West Chamber
(Torban, Rufus)
Rufus gives the forlorn chamber with the stake and bones a last glance over but, alas, his eye does not fall across any gleaming gold or jewelry... only dust and ashes.
After dallying as long as he dares, Rufus follows Torban as he creeps out of the gaping rent in the wall and into the wan sunlight of the courtyard...
{Gentlemen, please go to the Blasted Abbey thread.}
