Armando slips through the open gate to join the others. "Which way to the chapel? Perhaps I might sneak ahead to reconnoiter?"

He turns to the others to report his discovery.

"Sister Meena said that they were once among the Sisters of Mercy; but that was until Saint Carrie arrived. My enchantment should have prevented her from lying to me."

Ulric pauses to consider the situation.

"It is possible that these Sisters are under the spell of someone else. They may be acting against their wills."
A welcome rush of resolve at this confirmation of her suspicions restores Josiane's confidence.

"Saint Carrie?"

The Vagabond Knight wracks her brain for any memory of any such Saint, be she of the Faith, some dangerous heretic, or worse.

"I cannot conceive of a Sister of Mercy abandoning her faith without coercion," she adds; "I believe you have the right of it, Lord Ulric - they have been ensorcelled somehow. Please let us attempt to avoid lethal force unless there is no other choice. We must attempt to save these women, not destroy them."

Torben

"They might play our hand for us," Torben says grimly. "They know more about us than we do of them, and we're on their turf."

"Got rope?" Highbough will cast The Acclivitous Smaze, then take hold of one end of Olaf's rope and ascend to the roof of the nearest large building (the chapel, perhaps?). He'll anchor the rope to some architectural feature (flagpole, gargoyle, beam, etc.) so Olaf can climb up, too. From the rooftops, they can take stock of the situation and support the party with arrows and sorcery as necessary.

"My sentiments precisely my dear, with strong emphasis on the 'save'" adds Gustave with dreamy eyes.

Olaf complies with Highbough's request saying, "We need to move cautiously. Don't know exactly what's going on in there."

Ulric makes a point to look at Gustave.

"After that, my powers are less subtle. But let us hope that it does not come that."

Ulric looks around as more and more of the company crowds into the small space.

"Now, we should be systematic in how we push forward. We certainly have the numbers."

OOC: Ways, would it be possible to get a mud map of the layout of the abbey we have seen so far?

"Your enchantment of slumber would be most welcome," says Josiane, smiling gratefully at the sorcerer; "And you speak wisely. Let us proceed with care. Scouts down both passageways, perhaps? Our friend Armando has already volunteered his skills."

She sends a nod and a smile to the waiting rogue.

"Would another of the stealthier members of our company care to reconnoiter the other passage? We could then choose the route that seems best to our purpose and perhaps set a guard on the other path. Let us keep control of our exit and the enemy sealed within, if we can."
